Deuteronomy 34

LEB 1 Then Moses went up from the desert plateau of Moab to Mount Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, {which is opposite} Jericho, and Yahweh showed him all of the land, Gilead [all the way] up to Dan, NIV 1 Then Moses climbed Mount Nebo from the plains of Moab to the top of Pisgah, across from Jericho. There the LORD showed him the whole land—from Gilead to Dan, LEB 2 and all of Naphtali and the land of Ephraim and Manasseh and all of the land of Judah, up to the western sea, NIV 2 all of Naphtali, the territory of Ephraim and Manasseh, all the land of Judah as far as the Mediterranean Sea, LEB 3 and the Negev and the plain of the valley of Jericho, the city of palms, [on] up to Zoar. NIV 3 the Negev and the whole region from the Valley of Jericho, the City of Palms, as far as Zoar. LEB 4 And Yahweh said to him, "This [is] the land that I swore to Abraham to Isaac and to Jacob, {saying}, 'To your offspring I will give it.' I have let you see [it] with your eyes, but you shall not cross {into it}." NIV 4 Then the LORD said to him, “This is the land I promised on oath to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob when I said, ‘I will give it to your descendants.’ I have let you see it with your eyes, but you will not cross over into it.” LEB 5 Then Moses, the servant of Yahweh, died there in the land of Moab {according to the command of Yahweh}. NIV 5 And Moses the servant of the LORD died there in Moab, as the LORD had said. LEB 6 And he buried him in the valley in the land of Moab opposite Beth Peor. But until this day no one knows his burial site. NIV 6 He buried him in Moab, in the valley opposite Beth Peor, but to this day no one knows where his grave is. LEB 7 {Now Moses was a hundred and twenty years old} {when he died}; {his sight was not impaired and his vigor had not abated}. NIV 7 Moses was a hundred and twenty years old when he died, yet his eyes were not weak nor his strength gone. LEB 8 And the {Israelites} wept [concerning] Moses thirty days; [finally] the days of weeping and mourning for Moses were completed. NIV 8 The Israelites grieved for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days, until the time of weeping and mourning was over. LEB 9 Now Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom because Moses had placed his hands on him, and the {Israelites} listened to him, and they did as Yahweh had commanded Moses. NIV 9 Now Joshua son of Nun was filled with the spirit of wisdom because Moses had laid his hands on him. So the Israelites listened to him and did what the LORD had commanded Moses. LEB 10 And not again has a prophet arisen in Israel like Moses, whom Yahweh knew face to face, NIV 10 Since then, no prophet has risen in Israel like Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face, LEB 11 as far as all the signs and the wonders Yahweh sent him to do in the land of Egypt, against Pharaoh and all of his servants and against all of his land, NIV 11 who did all those signs and wonders the LORD sent him to do in Egypt—to Pharaoh and to all his officials and to his whole land. LEB 12 and as far as all of {the mighty deeds} and as far as {the great awesome wonders} Moses did before the eyes of all Israel. NIV 12 For no one has ever shown the mighty power or performed the awesome deeds that Moses did in the sight of all Israel.
