CEB 1 The LORD said to Moses: NRS 1 The Lord said to Moses: CEB 2 Tell the Israelites to collect gift offerings for me. Receive my gift offerings from everyone who freely wants to give. NRS 2 Tell the Israelites to take for me an offering; from all whose hearts prompt them to give you shall receive the offering for me. CEB 3 These are the gift offerings that you should receive from them: gold, silver, and copper; NRS 3 This is the offering that you shall receive from them: gold, silver, and bronze, CEB 4 blue, purple, and deep red yarns; fine linen; goats' hair; NRS 4 blue, purple, and crimson yarns and fine linen, goats' hair, CEB 5 rams' skins dyed red; beaded leather; acacia wood; NRS 5 tanned rams' skins, fine leather, acacia wood, CEB 6 oil for the lamps; spices for the anointing oil and for the sweet-smelling incense; NRS 6 oil for the lamps, spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense, CEB 7 gemstones; and gems for setting in the priest's vest and chest piece. NRS 7 onyx stones and gems to be set in the ephod and for the breastpiece. CEB 8 They should make me a sanctuary so I can be present among them. NRS 8 And have them make me a sanctuary, so that I may dwell among them. CEB 9 You should follow the blueprints that I will show you for the dwelling and for all its equipment. NRS 9 In accordance with all that I show you concerning the pattern of the tabernacle and of all its furniture, so you shall make it. CEB 10 Have them make an acacia-wood chest. It should be forty-five inches long, twenty-seven inches wide, and twenty-seven inches high. NRS 10 They shall make an ark of acacia wood; it shall be two and a half cubits long, a cubit and a half wide, and a cubit and a half high. CEB 11 Cover it with pure gold, inside and out, and make a gold molding all around it. NRS 11 You shall overlay it with pure gold, inside and outside you shall overlay it, and you shall make a molding of gold upon it all around. CEB 12 Cast four gold rings for it and put them on its four feet, two rings on one side and two rings on the other. NRS 12 You shall cast four rings of gold for it and put them on its four feet, two rings on the one side of it, and two rings on the other side. CEB 13 Make acacia-wood poles and cover them with gold. NRS 13 You shall make poles of acacia wood, and overlay them with gold. CEB 14 Then put the poles into the rings on the chest's sides and use them to carry the chest. NRS 14 And you shall put the poles into the rings on the sides of the ark, by which to carry the ark. CEB 15 The poles should stay in the chest's rings. They shouldn't be taken out of them. NRS 15 The poles shall remain in the rings of the ark; they shall not be taken from it. CEB 16 Put the covenant document that I will give you into the chest. NRS 16 You shall put into the ark the covenant that I shall give you. CEB 17 Then make a cover of pure gold, forty-five inches long and twenty-seven inches wide. NRS 17 Then you shall make a mercy seat of pure gold; two cubits and a half shall be its length, and a cubit and a half its width. CEB 18 Make two winged heavenly creatures of hammered gold, one for each end of the cover. NRS 18 You shall make two cherubim of gold; you shall make them of hammered work, at the two ends of the mercy seat. CEB 19 Put one winged heavenly creature at one end and one winged heavenly creature at the other. Place the winged heavenly creatures at the cover's two ends. NRS 19 Make one cherub at the one end, and one cherub at the other; of one piece with the mercy seat you shall make the cherubim at its two ends. CEB 20 The heavenly creatures should have their wings spread out above, shielding the cover with their wings. The winged heavenly creatures should face each other toward the cover's center. NRS 20 The cherubim shall spread out their wings above, overshadowing the mercy seat with their wings. They shall face one to another; the faces of the cherubim shall be turned toward the mercy seat. CEB 21 Put the gold cover on top of the chest and put the covenant document that I will give you inside the chest. NRS 21 You shall put the mercy seat on the top of the ark; and in the ark you shall put the covenant that I shall give you. CEB 22 There I will meet with you. From there above the cover, from between the two winged heavenly creatures that are on top of the chest containing the covenant, I will deliver to you all that I command you concerning the Israelites. NRS 22 There I will meet with you, and from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim that are on the ark of the covenant, I will deliver to you all my commands for the Israelites. CEB 23 Make an acacia-wood table, three feet long, eighteen inches wide, and twenty-seven inches high. NRS 23 You shall make a table of acacia wood, two cubits long, one cubit wide, and a cubit and a half high. CEB 24 Cover it with pure gold and make a gold molding all around it. NRS 24 You shall overlay it with pure gold, and make a molding of gold around it. CEB 25 Make a frame around it that is four inches wide and a gold molding around the frame. NRS 25 You shall make around it a rim a handbreadth wide, and a molding of gold around the rim. CEB 26 Make four gold rings for the table. Fasten the rings to the four corners at its four legs. NRS 26 You shall make for it four rings of gold, and fasten the rings to the four corners at its four legs. CEB 27 The rings that house the poles used for carrying the table should be close to the frame. NRS 27 The rings that hold the poles used for carrying the table shall be close to the rim. CEB 28 Make the poles from acacia wood and cover them with gold. The table should be carried with these poles. NRS 28 You shall make the poles of acacia wood, and overlay them with gold, and the table shall be carried with these. CEB 29 Make its plates, dishes, jars, and bowls for pouring drink offerings. Make them of pure gold. NRS 29 You shall make its plates and dishes for incense, and its flagons and bowls with which to pour drink offerings; you shall make them of pure gold. CEB 30 Set the bread of the presence on the table so it is always in front of me. NRS 30 And you shall set the bread of the Presence on the table before me always. CEB 31 Make a lampstand of pure hammered gold. The lampstand's base, branches, cups, flowers, and petals should all be attached to it. NRS 31 You shall make a lampstand of pure gold. The base and the shaft of the lampstand shall be made of hammered work; its cups, its calyxes, and its petals shall be of one piece with it; CEB 32 It should have six branches growing out from its sides, three branches on one side of the lampstand and three branches on the other side of the lampstand. NRS 32 and there shall be six branches going out of its sides, three branches of the lampstand out of one side of it and three branches of the lampstand out of the other side of it; CEB 33 One branch will have three cups shaped like almond blossoms, each with a flower and petals, and the next branch will also have three cups shaped like almond blossoms, each with a flower and petals. So it will be for the six branches that grow out of the lampstand. NRS 33 three cups shaped like almond blossoms, each with calyx and petals, on one branch, and three cups shaped like almond blossoms, each with calyx and petals, on the other branch—so for the six branches going out of the lampstand. CEB 34 In addition, on the lampstand itself there will be four cups shaped like almond blossoms, each with its flower and petals. NRS 34 On the lampstand itself there shall be four cups shaped like almond blossoms, each with its calyxes and petals. CEB 35 There will be a flower attached under the first pair of branches, a flower attached under the next pair of branches, and a flower attached under the last pair of branches. So it will be for the six branches that grow out of the lampstand. NRS 35 There shall be a calyx of one piece with it under the first pair of branches, a calyx of one piece with it under the next pair of branches, and a calyx of one piece with it under the last pair of branches—so for the six branches that go out of the lampstand. CEB 36 Their flowers and their branches will be permanently attached to it. The whole lampstand should be one piece of pure hammered gold. NRS 36 Their calyxes and their branches shall be of one piece with it, the whole of it one hammered piece of pure gold. CEB 37 Make its seven lamps and set up its lamps so that they direct their light in front of the lampstand. NRS 37 You shall make the seven lamps for it; and the lamps shall be set up so as to give light on the space in front of it. CEB 38 You should also make its tongs and fire pans out of pure gold. NRS 38 Its snuffers and trays shall be of pure gold. CEB 39 All these items should be made from pure gold weighing one kikkar. NRS 39 It, and all these utensils, shall be made from a talent of pure gold. CEB 40 See to it that you make them according to the blueprint for them that you were shown on the mountain. NRS 40 And see that you make them according to the pattern for them, which is being shown you on the mountain.
