Joshua 19

BBE 1 And the second heritage came out for the tribe of Simeon by their families; and their heritage was in the middle of the heritage of the children of Judah. NIV 1 The second lot came out for the tribe of Simeon according to its clans. Their inheritance lay within the territory of Judah. BBE 2 And they had for their heritage Beer-sheba and Shema and Moladah NIV 2 It included: Beersheba (or Sheba), Moladah, BBE 3 And Hazar-shual and Balah and Ezem NIV 3 Hazar Shual, Balah, Ezem, BBE 4 And Eltolad and Bethul and Hormah NIV 4 Eltolad, Bethul, Hormah, BBE 5 And Ziklag and Beth-marcaboth and Hazar-susah NIV 5 Ziklag, Beth Markaboth, Hazar Susah, BBE 6 And Beth-lebaoth and Sharuhen; thirteen towns with their unwalled places; NIV 6 Beth Lebaoth and Sharuhen—thirteen towns and their villages; BBE 7 Ain, Rimmon, and Ether and Ashan; four towns with their unwalled places; NIV 7 Ain, Rimmon, Ether and Ashan—four towns and their villages— BBE 8 And all the unwalled places round about these towns as far as Baalath-beer-ramah to the south. This is the heritage of the tribe of Simeon by their families. NIV 8 and all the villages around these towns as far as Baalath Beer (Ramah in the Negev). This was the inheritance of the tribe of the Simeonites, according to its clans. BBE 9 The heritage of Simeon was taken out of Judah's stretch of land, for Judah's part was more than they had need of, so the heritage of the children of Simeon was inside their heritage. NIV 9 The inheritance of the Simeonites was taken from the share of Judah, because Judah’s portion was more than they needed. So the Simeonites received their inheritance within the territory of Judah. BBE 10 And the third heritage came out for Zebulun by their families; the limit of their heritage was as far as Sarid; NIV 10 The third lot came up for Zebulun according to its clans: The boundary of their inheritance went as far as Sarid. BBE 11 And their limit goes up to the west to Maralah, stretching to Dabbesheth, and to the stream in front of Jokneam; NIV 11 Going west it ran to Maralah, touched Dabbesheth, and extended to the ravine near Jokneam. BBE 12 Then turning east from Sarid to the limit of Chisloth-tabor, it goes out to Daberath, and up to Japhia; NIV 12 It turned east from Sarid toward the sunrise to the territory of Kisloth Tabor and went on to Daberath and up to Japhia. BBE 13 And from there it goes on east to Gath-hepher, to Eth-kazin; ending at Rimmon which goes as far as Neah; NIV 13 Then it continued eastward to Gath Hepher and Eth Kazin; it came out at Rimmon and turned toward Neah. BBE 14 And the line goes round it on the north to Hannathon, ending at the valley of Iphtah-el; NIV 14 There the boundary went around on the north to Hannathon and ended at the Valley of Iphtah El. BBE 15 And Kattath and Nahalal and Shimron and Idalah and Beth-lehem; twelve towns with their unwalled places. NIV 15 Included were Kattath, Nahalal, Shimron, Idalah and Bethlehem. There were twelve towns and their villages. BBE 16 This is the heritage of the children of Zebulun by their families, these towns with their unwalled places. NIV 16 These towns and their villages were the inheritance of Zebulun, according to its clans. BBE 17 For Issachar the fourth heritage came out, for the children of Issachar by their families; NIV 17 The fourth lot came out for Issachar according to its clans. BBE 18 And their limit was to Jezreel and Chesulloth and Shunem NIV 18 Their territory included: Jezreel, Kesulloth, Shunem, BBE 19 And Hapharaim and Shion and Anaharath NIV 19 Hapharaim, Shion, Anaharath, BBE 20 And Rabbith and Kishion and Ebez NIV 20 Rabbith, Kishion, Ebez, BBE 21 And Remeth and En-gannim and En-haddah and Beth-pazzez; NIV 21 Remeth, En Gannim, En Haddah and Beth Pazzez. BBE 22 And their limit goes as far as Tabor and Shahazimah and Beth-shemesh, ending at Jordan; sixteen towns with their unwalled places. NIV 22 The boundary touched Tabor, Shahazumah and Beth Shemesh, and ended at the Jordan. There were sixteen towns and their villages. BBE 23 This is the heritage of the tribe of the children of Issachar by their families, these towns with their unwalled places. NIV 23 These towns and their villages were the inheritance of the tribe of Issachar, according to its clans. BBE 24 And the fifth heritage came out for the tribe of Asher by their families. NIV 24 The fifth lot came out for the tribe of Asher according to its clans. BBE 25 And their limit was Helkath and Hali and Beten and Achshaph NIV 25 Their territory included: Helkath, Hali, Beten, Akshaph, BBE 26 And Alammelech and Amad and Mishal, stretching to Carmel on the west and Shihor-libnath; NIV 26 Allammelek, Amad and Mishal. On the west the boundary touched Carmel and Shihor Libnath. BBE 27 Turning to the east to Beth-dagon and stretching to Zebulun and the valley of Iphtah-el as far as Beth-emek and Neiel to the north; on the left it goes as far as Cabul NIV 27 It then turned east toward Beth Dagon, touched Zebulun and the Valley of Iphtah El, and went north to Beth Emek and Neiel, passing Kabul on the left. BBE 28 And Ebron and Rehob and Hammon and Kanah, to great Zidon; NIV 28 It went to Abdon, Rehob, Hammon and Kanah, as far as Greater Sidon. BBE 29 And the limit goes round to Ramah and the walled town of Tyre and Hosah, ending at the sea by Heleb and Achzib; NIV 29 The boundary then turned back toward Ramah and went to the fortified city of Tyre, turned toward Hosah and came out at the Mediterranean Sea in the region of Akzib, BBE 30 And Ummah and Aphek and Rehob; twenty-two towns with their unwalled places. NIV 30 Ummah, Aphek and Rehob. There were twenty-two towns and their villages. BBE 31 This is the heritage of the tribe of the children of Asher by their families, these towns with their unwalled places. NIV 31 These towns and their villages were the inheritance of the tribe of Asher, according to its clans. BBE 32 For the children of Naphtali the sixth heritage came out, for the children of Naphtali by their families; NIV 32 The sixth lot came out for Naphtali according to its clans: BBE 33 And their limit was from Heleph, from the oak-tree in Zaanannim, and Adami-hannekeb and Jabneel, as far as Lakkum, ending at Jordan; NIV 33 Their boundary went from Heleph and the large tree in Zaanannim, passing Adami Nekeb and Jabneel to Lakkum and ending at the Jordan. BBE 34 And turning west to Aznoth-tabor, the limit goes out from there to Hukkok, stretching to Zebulun on the south, and Asher on the west, and Judah at Jordan on the east. NIV 34 The boundary ran west through Aznoth Tabor and came out at Hukkok. It touched Zebulun on the south, Asher on the west and the Jordan on the east. BBE 35 And the walled towns are Ziddim, Zer, and Hammath, Rakkath, and Chinnereth NIV 35 The fortified towns were Ziddim, Zer, Hammath, Rakkath, Kinnereth, BBE 36 And Adamah and Ramah and Hazor NIV 36 Adamah, Ramah, Hazor, BBE 37 And Kedesh and Edrei and En-Hazor NIV 37 Kedesh, Edrei, En Hazor, BBE 38 And Iron and Migdal-el, Horem and Beth-anath and Beth-shemesh; nineteen towns with their unwalled places. NIV 38 Iron, Migdal El, Horem, Beth Anath and Beth Shemesh. There were nineteen towns and their villages. BBE 39 This is the heritage of the tribe of the children of Naphtali by their families, these towns with their unwalled places. NIV 39 These towns and their villages were the inheritance of the tribe of Naphtali, according to its clans. BBE 40 For the tribe of Dan by their families the seventh heritage came out; NIV 40 The seventh lot came out for the tribe of Dan according to its clans. BBE 41 And the limit of their heritage was Zorah and Eshtaol and Ir-shemesh NIV 41 The territory of their inheritance included: Zorah, Eshtaol, Ir Shemesh, BBE 42 And Shaalabbin and Aijalon and Ithlah NIV 42 Shaalabbin, Aijalon, Ithlah, BBE 43 And Elon and Timnah and Ekron NIV 43 Elon, Timnah, Ekron, BBE 44 And Eltekeh and Gibbethon and Baalath NIV 44 Eltekeh, Gibbethon, Baalath, BBE 45 And Jehud and Bene-berak and Gath-rimmon; NIV 45 Jehud, Bene Berak, Gath Rimmon, BBE 46 And on the west was ... opposite Joppa. NIV 47 (When the territory of the Danites was lost to them, they went up and attacked Leshem, took it, put it to the sword and occupied it. They settled in Leshem and named it Dan after their ancestor.) BBE 48 This is the heritage of the tribe of the children of Dan by their families, these towns with their unwalled places. NIV 48 These towns and their villages were the inheritance of the tribe of Dan, according to its clans. BBE 49 So the distribution of the land and its limits was complete; and the children of Israel gave Joshua, the son of Nun, a heritage among them; NIV 49 When they had finished dividing the land into its allotted portions, the Israelites gave Joshua son of Nun an inheritance among them, BBE 50 By the orders of the Lord they gave him the town for which he made request, Timnath-serah in the hill-country of Ephraim: there, after building the town, he made his living-place. NIV 50 as the LORD had commanded. They gave him the town he asked for—Timnath Serah in the hill country of Ephraim. And he built up the town and settled there. BBE 51 These are the heritages which Eleazar the priest and Joshua, the son of Nun, and the heads of families of the tribes of the children of Israel gave out at Shiloh, by the decision of the Lord, at the door of the Tent of meeting. So the distribution of the land was complete. NIV 51 These are the territories that Eleazar the priest, Joshua son of Nun and the heads of the tribal clans of Israel assigned by lot at Shiloh in the presence of the LORD at the entrance to the tent of meeting. And so they finished dividing the land.
