1 Enseñanzas acerca del perdón y la fe<br />Cierto día, Jesús dijo a sus discípulos:

Jesus said to his disciples: “Things that cause people to stumble are bound to come, but woe to anyone through whom they come.
2 Sería mejor que se arrojara al mar con una piedra de molino alrededor del cuello que hacer que uno de estos pequeños caiga en pecado.

It would be better for them to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around their neck than to cause one of these little ones to stumble.

So watch yourselves. “If your brother or sistersins against you, rebuke them; and if they repent, forgive them.

Even if they sin against you seven times in a day and seven times come back to you saying ‘I repent,’ you must forgive them.”

The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!”

He replied, “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it will obey you.
7 »Cuando un sirviente vuelve de arar o de cuidar las ovejas, ¿acaso su patrón le dice: “Ven y come conmigo”?

“Suppose one of you has a servant plowing or looking after the sheep. Will he say to the servant when he comes in from the field, ‘Come along now and sit down to eat’?
8 No, le dirá: “Prepara mi comida, ponte el delantal y sírveme mientras como. Luego puedes comer tú”.

Won’t he rather say, ‘Prepare my supper, get yourself ready and wait on me while I eat and drink; after that you may eat and drink’?
9 ¿Y le agradece el amo al sirviente por hacer lo que se le dijo que hiciera? Por supuesto que no.

Will he thank the servant because he did what he was told to do?
10 De la misma manera, cuando ustedes me obedecen, deben decir: “Somos siervos indignos que simplemente cumplimos con nuestro deber”.

So you also, when you have done everything you were told to do, should say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty.’ ”
11 Diez leprosos son sanados<br />Mientras Jesús seguía camino a Jerusalén, llegó a la frontera entre Galilea y Samaria.

Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee.
12 Al entrar en una aldea, diez leprosos se quedaron a la distancia,

As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met him. They stood at a distance
13 gritando:<br />—¡Jesús! ¡Maestro! ¡Ten compasión de nosotros!

and called out in a loud voice, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us!”
14 Jesús los miró y dijo:<br />Y, mientras ellos iban, quedaron limpios de la lepra.

When he saw them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed.
15 Uno de ellos, cuando vio que estaba sano, volvió a Jesús, y exclamó: «¡Alaben a Dios!».

One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice.
16 Y cayó al suelo, a los pies de Jesús, y le agradeció por lo que había hecho. Ese hombre era samaritano.

He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan.
17 Jesús preguntó:

Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine?
18 ¿Ninguno volvió para darle gloria a Dios excepto este extranjero?».

Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?”
19 Y Jesús le dijo al hombre:

Then he said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.”
20 La venida del reino<br />Un día, los fariseos le preguntaron a Jesús:<br />—¿Cuándo vendrá el reino de Dios?<br />Jesús contestó:

Once, on being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, “The coming of the kingdom of God is not something that can be observed,
21 Nunca podrán decir: “¡Aquí está!” o “¡Está por allí!”, porque el reino de Dios ya está entre ustedes.

nor will people say, ‘Here it is,’ or ‘There it is,’ because the kingdom of God is in your midst.”
22 Entonces dijo a sus discípulos:

Then he said to his disciples, “The time is coming when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, but you will not see it.
23 Algunos les dirán: “Miren, allí está el Hijo del Hombre” o “Aquí está”, pero no los sigan.

People will tell you, ‘There he is!’ or ‘Here he is!’ Do not go running off after them.
24 Pues, así como el relámpago destella e ilumina el cielo de un extremo a otro, así será el día cuando venga el Hijo del Hombre.

For the Son of Man in his daywill be like the lightning, which flashes and lights up the sky from one end to the other.
25 Pero primero el Hijo del Hombre tiene que sufrir terriblemente<br /> y ser rechazado por esta generación.

But first he must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.
26 »Cuando el Hijo del Hombre regrese, será como en los días de Noé.

“Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man.
27 En esos días, la gente disfrutaba de banquetes, fiestas y casamientos, hasta el momento en que Noé entró en su barco y llegó el diluvio y los destruyó a todos.

People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all.
28 »El mundo será como en los días de Lot, cuando las personas se ocupaban de sus quehaceres diarios —comían y bebían, compraban y vendían, cultivaban y edificaban—

“It was the same in the days of Lot. People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building.
29 hasta la mañana en que Lot salió de Sodoma. Entonces llovió del cielo fuego y azufre ardiente, y destruyó a todos.

But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all.
30 Sí, será “todo como siempre” hasta el día en que se manifieste el Hijo del Hombre.

“It will be just like this on the day the Son of Man is revealed.
31 Ese día, la persona que esté en la azotea no baje a la casa para empacar. La persona que esté en el campo no regrese a su casa.

On that day no one who is on the housetop, with possessions inside, should go down to get them. Likewise, no one in the field should go back for anything.

Remember Lot’s wife!
33 Si se aferran a su vida, la perderán; pero si dejan de aferrarse a su vida, la salvarán.

Whoever tries to keep their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life will preserve it.
34 Esa noche, dos personas estarán durmiendo en una misma cama; una será llevada y la otra, dejada.

I tell you, on that night two people will be in one bed; one will be taken and the other left.
35 Dos mujeres estarán moliendo harina juntas en un molino; una será llevada, la otra será dejada».

Two women will be grinding grain together; one will be taken and the other left.”

37 Los discípulos le preguntaron:<br />—¿Dónde sucederá eso, Señor?<br />Jesús les contestó:

“Where, Lord?” they asked. He replied, “Where there is a dead body, there the vultures will gather.”
