Acts 2:27-31

RSV 27 For thou wilt not abandon my soul to Hades, nor let thy Holy One see corruption. NIV 27 because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, you will not let your holy one see decay. RSV 28 Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou wilt make me full of gladness with thy presence.' NIV 28 You have made known to me the paths of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence.’ RSV 29 "Brethren, I may say to you confidently of the patriarch David that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day. NIV 29 “Fellow Israelites, I can tell you confidently that the patriarch David died and was buried, and his tomb is here to this day. RSV 30 Being therefore a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that he would set one of his descendants upon his throne, NIV 30 But he was a prophet and knew that God had promised him on oath that he would place one of his descendants on his throne. RSV 31 he foresaw and spoke of the resurrection of the Christ, that he was not abandoned to Hades, nor did his flesh see corruption. NIV 31 Seeing what was to come, he spoke of the resurrection of the Messiah, that he was not abandoned to the realm of the dead, nor did his body see decay.
