1 Ní bù Jiǎní sǎ zaì wèi dì èr nián , tā zuò le mèng , xīnli fán luàn , bùnéng shuìjiào .
1 In the second year of his reign, Nebuchadnezzar had dreams; his mind was troubled and he could not sleep.
2 Wáng fēnfu rén jiāng shùshì , yòng fǎshù de , xíng xiéshù de , hé Jiālèdǐ rén zhào lái , yào tāmen jiāng wáng de mèng gàosu wáng , tāmen jiù lái zhàn zaì wáng qián .
2 So the king summoned the magicians, enchanters, sorcerers and astrologers to tell him what he had dreamed. When they came in and stood before the king,
3 Wáng duì tāmen shuō , wǒ zuò le yī mèng , xīnli fán luàn , yào zhīdào zhè shì shénme mèng .
3 he said to them, “I have had a dream that troubles me and I want to know what it means. ”
4 Jiālèdǐ rén yòng Yàlán de yányǔ duì wáng shuō , yuàn wáng wàn suì . qǐng jiāng nà mèng gàosu púrén , púrén jiù kĕyǐ jiǎngjiĕ .
4 Then the astrologers answered the king, “May the king live forever! Tell your servants the dream, and we will interpret it.”
5 Wáng huídá Jiālèdǐ rén shuō , mèng wǒ yǐjing wáng le ( huò zuò wǒ yǐ déng méng bá jié tóng ) , nǐmen ruò bú jiāng mèng hé mèng de jiǎngjiĕ gàosu wǒ , jiù bì beì líng chí , nǐmen de fángwū bì chéngwéi fèn duī .
5 The king replied to the astrologers, “This is what I have firmly decided: If you do not tell me what my dream was and interpret it, I will have you cut into pieces and your houses turned into piles of rubble.
6 Nǐmen ruò jiāng mèng hé mèng de jiǎngjiĕ gàosu wǒ , jiù bì cóng wǒ zhèlǐ dé zèng pǐn hé shǎngcì , bìng dà zūnróng . xiànzaì nǐmen yào jiāng mèng hé mèng de jiǎngjiĕ gàosu wǒ .
6 But if you tell me the dream and explain it, you will receive from me gifts and rewards and great honor. So tell me the dream and interpret it for me.”
7 Tāmen dì èr cì duì wáng shuō , qǐng wáng jiāng mèng gàosu púrén , púrén jiù kĕyǐ jiǎngjiĕ .
7 Once more they replied, “Let the king tell his servants the dream, and we will interpret it.”
8 Wáng huídá shuō , wǒ zhún zhīdào nǐmen shì gùyì chíyán , yīnwei nǐmen zhīdào nà mèng wǒ yǐjing wáng le .
8 Then the king answered, “I am certain that you are trying to gain time, because you realize that this is what I have firmly decided:
9 Nǐmen ruò bú jiāng mèng gàosu wǒ , zhǐyǒu yī fǎ dāi nǐmen . yīnwei nǐmen yùbeì le huǎng yán luàn yǔ xiàng wǒ shuō , yào dĕnghòu shí shì gǎibiàn . xiànzaì nǐmen yào jiāng mèng gàosu wǒ , yīn wǒ zhīdào nǐmen néng jiāng mèng de jiǎngjiĕ gàosu wǒ .
9 If you do not tell me the dream, there is only one penalty for you. You have conspired to tell me misleading and wicked things, hoping the situation will change. So then, tell me the dream, and I will know that you can interpret it for me.”
10 Jiālèdǐ rén zaì wáng miànqián huídá shuō , shìshang méiyǒu rén néng jiāng wáng suǒ wèn de shì shuō chūlai . yīnwei méiyǒu jūnwáng , dàchén , zhǎngquán de xiàng shùshì , huò yòng fǎshù de , huò Jiālèdǐ rén wèn guō zhèyàng de shì .
10 The astrologers answered the king, “There is no one on earth who can do what the king asks! No king, however great and mighty, has ever asked such a thing of any magician or enchanter or astrologer.
11 Wáng suǒ wèn de shì shén nán . chúle bù yǔ shìrén tóngjū de shénmíng , méiyǒu rén zaì wáng miànqián néng shuō chūlai .
11 What the king asks is too difficult. No one can reveal it to the king except the gods, and they do not live among humans.”
12 Yīncǐ , wáng qì fèn fèn dì dà fā liè nù , fēnfu mièjué Bābǐlún suǒyǒude zhé shì .
12 This made the king so angry and furious that he ordered the execution of all the wise men of Babylon.
13 Yúshì mìnglìng fāchū , zhé shì jiāngyào jiàn shā , rén jiù xúnzhǎo Dànyǐlǐ hé tāde tóngbàn , yào shā tāmen .
13 So the decree was issued to put the wise men to death, and men were sent to look for Daniel and his friends to put them to death.
14 Wáng de hùwèi cháng/zhǎng Yàlüè chūlai , yào shā Bābǐlún de zhé shì , Dànyǐlǐ jiù yòng wǎn yán huídá tā ,
14 When Arioch, the commander of the king’s guard, had gone out to put to death the wise men of Babylon, Daniel spoke to him with wisdom and tact.
15 Xiàng wáng de hùwèi cháng/zhǎng Yàlüè shuō , wáng de mìnglìng wèihé zhèyàng jǐn jí ne . Yàlüè jiù jiāng qíng jiē gàosu Dànyǐlǐ .
15 He asked the king’s officer, “Why did the king issue such a harsh decree?” Arioch then explained the matter to Daniel.
16 Dànyǐlǐ suí jìn qù qiú wáng kuān xiàn , jiù kĕyǐ jiāng mèng de jiǎngjiĕ gàosu wáng .
16 At this, Daniel went in to the king and asked for time, so that he might interpret the dream for him.
17 Dànyǐlǐ huí dào tāde jū suǒ , jiāng zhè shì gàosu tāde tóngbàn hā ná ní yē , Mǐshālì , Yàsālìyē ,
17 Then Daniel returned to his house and explained the matter to his friends Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah.
18 yào tāmen qíqiú tiān shǎng de shén shī liánmǐn , jiāng zhè àomì de shì zhī míng , miǎndé Dànyǐlǐ hé tāde tóngbàn yǔ Bābǐlún qíyú de zhé shì yītóng mièwáng .
18 He urged them to plead for mercy from the God of heaven concerning this mystery, so that he and his friends might not be executed with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.
19 Zhè àomì de shì jiù zaì yè jiān yìxiàng zhōng gĕi Dànyǐlǐ xiǎnmíng , Dànyǐlǐ biàn/pián chēngsòng tiān shǎng de shén .
19 During the night the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a vision. Then Daniel praised the God of heaven
20 Dànyǐlǐ shuō , shén de míng shì yīngdāng chēngsòng de . cōng gèn gǔ zhídào yǒngyuǎn , yīnwei zhìhuì nénglì dōu shǔ/zhǔ hū tā .
20 and said: “Praise be to the name of God for ever and ever; wisdom and power are his.
21 Tā gǎibiàn shíhou , rìqī , feì wáng , lì wáng , jiāng zhìhuì cì yǔ zhìhuì rén , jiāng zhīshi cì yǔ cōngming rén .
21 He changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning.
22 Tā xiǎnmíng shēn ào yǐn bì de shì , zhīdào ànzhōng suǒyǒude , guāngmíng yĕ yǔ tā tóngjū .
22 He reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with him.
23 Wǒ lièzǔ de shén a , wǒ gǎnxiè nǐ , zànmĕi nǐ , yīn nǐ jiāng zhìhuì cáinéng cìgĕi wǒ , yún zhún wǒmen suǒ qiú de , bǎ wáng de shì gĕi wǒmen zhī míng .
23 I thank and praise you, God of my ancestors: You have given me wisdom and power, you have made known to me what we asked of you, you have made known to us the dream of the king.”
24 Yúshì , Dànyǐlǐ jìn qù jiàn Yàlüè , jiù shì wáng suǒ pā mièjué Bābǐlún zhé shì de , duì tā shuō , búyào mièjué Bābǐlún de zhé shì , qiú nǐ lǐng wǒ dào wáng miànqián , wǒ yào jiāng mèng de jiǎngjiĕ gàosu wáng .
24 Then Daniel went to Arioch, whom the king had appointed to execute the wise men of Babylon, and said to him, “Do not execute the wise men of Babylon. Take me to the king, and I will interpret his dream for him.”
25 Yàlüè jiù jímáng jiāng Dànyǐlǐ lǐng dào wáng miànqián , duì wáng shuō , wǒ zaì beìlǔ de Yóudà rén zhōng yùjiàn yī rén , tā néng jiāng mèng de jiǎngjiĕ gàosu wáng .
25 Arioch took Daniel to the king at once and said, “I have found a man among the exiles from Judah who can tell the king what his dream means.”
26 Wáng wèn chēngwèi bǎi/bó dī shā sā de Dànyǐlǐ shuō , nǐ néng jiāng wǒ suǒ zuō de mèng hé mèng de jiǎngjiĕ gàosu wǒ ma .
26 The king asked Daniel (also called Belteshazzar), “Are you able to tell me what I saw in my dream and interpret it?”
27 Dànyǐlǐ zaì wáng miànqián huídá shuō , wáng suǒ wèn de nà àomì shì , zhé shì , yòng fǎshù de , shùshì , guān zhào de dōu bùnéng gàosu wáng .
27 Daniel replied, “No wise man, enchanter, magician or diviner can explain to the king the mystery he has asked about,
28 Zhǐyǒu yī wèi zaì tiān shǎng de shén néng xiǎnmíng àomì de shì . tā yǐ jiāng rìhòu bì yǒude shì zhǐshì ní bù Jiǎní sā wáng . nǐde mèng hé nǐ zaì chuáng shǎng nǎo zhōng de yìxiàng shì zhèyàng ,
28 but there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries. He has shown King Nebuchadnezzar what will happen in days to come. Your dream and the visions that passed through your mind as you were lying in bed are these:
29 Wáng a , nǐ zaì chuáng shǎng xiǎng dào hòulái de shì , nà xiǎnmíng àomì shì de zhǔ bǎ jiānglái bì yǒude shì zhǐshì nǐ .
29 “As Your Majesty was lying there, your mind turned to things to come, and the revealer of mysteries showed you what is going to happen.
30 Zhìyú nà àomì de shì xiǎnmíng gĕi wǒ , bīng fēi yīn wǒde zhìhuì shēng guō yīqiè huó rén , nǎi wéi shǐ wáng zhīdào mèng de jiǎngjiĕ hé xīnli de sīniàn .
30 As for me, this mystery has been revealed to me, not because I have greater wisdom than anyone else alive, but so that Your Majesty may know the interpretation and that you may understand what went through your mind.
31 Wáng a , nǐ mèng jiàn yī gè dà xiàng , zhè xiàng shén gāo , jíqí guāng yào , zhàn zaì nǐ miànqián , xíngzhuàng shén shì kĕpà .
31 “Your Majesty looked, and there before you stood a large statue—an enormous, dazzling statue, awesome in appearance.
32 Zhè xiàng de tóu shì jīng jīn de , xiōng táng hé bǎngbì shì yín de , dǔ fù hé yào shì tóng de ,
32 The head of the statue was made of pure gold, its chest and arms of silver, its belly and thighs of bronze,
33 Tuǐ shì tiĕ de , jiǎ shì bàn tiĕ bàn ní de .
33 its legs of iron, its feet partly of iron and partly of baked clay.
34 Nǐ guānkàn , jiàn yǒu yī kuaì fēi rén shǒu zaó chūlai de shítou dá zaì zhè xiàng bàn tiĕ bàn ní de jiǎ shǎng , bǎ jiǎ zá suì .
34 While you were watching, a rock was cut out, but not by human hands. It struck the statue on its feet of iron and clay and smashed them.
35 Yúshì jīn , yín , tóng , tiĕ , ní dōu yītóng zá dé fĕnsuì , chéng rú xiàtiān hécháng shǎng de kāng bǐ , beì fēng chuī sǎn , mó/wú chǔ kĕ xín/xún . dá suì zhè xiàng de shítou biànchéng yī zuò dà shān , chōngmǎn tiān xià .
35 Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver and the gold were all broken to pieces and became like chaff on a threshing floor in the summer. The wind swept them away without leaving a trace. But the rock that struck the statue became a huge mountain and filled the whole earth.
36 Zhè jiù shì nà mèng . wǒmen zaì wáng miànqián yào jiǎngjiĕ nà mèng .
36 “This was the dream, and now we will interpret it to the king.
37 Wáng a , nǐ shì zhū wáng zhī wáng . tiān shǎng de shén yǐ jiāng guódù , quánbǐng , nénglì , zūnróng dōu cìgĕi nǐ .
37 Your Majesty, you are the king of kings. The God of heaven has given you dominion and power and might and glory;
38 Fán shìrén suǒ zhù zhī dì de zǒushòu , bīng tiānkōng de fēiniǎo , tā dōu jiāofù nǐ shǒu , shǐ nǐ zhǎng guǎn zhè yīqiè . nǐ jiù shì nà jīn tóu .
38 in your hands he has placed all mankind and the beasts of the field and the birds in the sky. Wherever they live, he has made you ruler over them all. You are that head of gold.
39 Zaì nǐ yǐhòu bì Lìng xīng yī guó , bú jí yú nǐ . yòu yǒu dì sān guó , jiù shì tóng de , bì zhǎng guǎn tiān xià .
39 “After you, another kingdom will arise, inferior to yours. Next, a third kingdom, one of bronze, will rule over the whole earth.
40 Dì sì guó , bìjiān zhuàng rú tiĕ , tiĕ néng dá suì kèzhì bǎi/bó wù , yòu néng yē suì yīqiè , nà guó yĕ bì dá suì yēzhì liè guó .
40 Finally, there will be a fourth kingdom, strong as iron—for iron breaks and smashes everything—and as iron breaks things to pieces, so it will crush and break all the others.
41 Nǐ jì jiàn xiàng de jiǎ hé jiǎ zhítou , yī bàn shì yáo jiàng de ní , yī bàn shì tiĕ , nà guó jiānglái yĕ bì fēnkāi . nǐ jì jiàn tiĕ yǔ ní chānzá , nà guó yĕ bì yǒu tiĕ de lìliang .
41 Just as you saw that the feet and toes were partly of baked clay and partly of iron, so this will be a divided kingdom; yet it will have some of the strength of iron in it, even as you saw iron mixed with clay.
42 Nà jiǎ zhítou , jì shì bàn tiĕ bàn ní , nà guó yĕ bì bàn jiàng bàn ruò .
42 As the toes were partly iron and partly clay, so this kingdom will be partly strong and partly brittle.
43 Nǐ jì jiàn tiĕ yǔ ní chānzá , nà guó mín yĕ bì yǔ gè chóng rén chānzá , què bùnéng bǐcǐ xiāng gĕ/hé , zhēng rú tiĕ yǔ ní bùnéng xiāng gĕ/hé yíyàng .
43 And just as you saw the iron mixed with baked clay, so the people will be a mixture and will not remain united, any more than iron mixes with clay.
44 Dāng nà liè wáng zaì wèi de shíhou , tiān shǎng de shén bì Lìng lì yī guó , yǒng bú baìhuaì , yĕ bú guī bié guó de rén , què yào dá suì mièjué nà yīqiè guó , zhè guó bì cún dào yǒngyuǎn .
44 “In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure forever.
45 Nǐ jì kànjian fēi rén shǒu zaó chūlai de yī kuaì shítou cōng shān ér chū , dá suì jīn , yín , tóng , tiĕ , ní , nà jiù shì zhì dà de shén bǎ hòulái bì yǒude shì gĕi wáng zhī míng . zhè mèng zhún shì zhèyàng , zhè jiǎngjiĕ yĕ shì quèshí de .
45 This is the meaning of the vision of the rock cut out of a mountain, but not by human hands—a rock that broke the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver and the gold to pieces. “The great God has shown the king what will take place in the future. The dream is true and its interpretation is trustworthy.”
46 Dāngshí , ní bù Jiǎní sā wáng fǔfú zaì dì , xiàng Dànyǐlǐ xià baì , bìngqiĕ fēnfu rén gĕi tā fèng shǎng gōngwù hé xiāng pǐn .
46 Then King Nebuchadnezzar fell prostrate before Daniel and paid him honor and ordered that an offering and incense be presented to him.
47 Wáng duì Dànyǐlǐ shuō , nǐ jì néng xiǎnmíng zhè àomì de shì , nǐmen de shén chéngrán shì wàn shén zhī shén , wàn wáng zhī zhǔ , yòu shì xiǎnmíng àomì shì de .
47 The king said to Daniel, “Surely your God is the God of gods and the Lord of kings and a revealer of mysteries, for you were able to reveal this mystery.”
48 Yúshì wáng gāo tái Dànyǐlǐ , shǎngcì tā xǔduō shàngdĕng lǐwù , pā tā guǎnlǐ Bābǐlún quán shĕng/xǐng , yòu lì tā wéi zǒnglǐ , zhǎng guǎn Bābǐlún de yīqiè zhé shì .
48 Then the king placed Daniel in a high position and lavished many gifts on him. He made him ruler over the entire province of Babylon and placed him in charge of all its wise men.
49 Dànyǐlǐ qiú wáng , wáng jiù pā shā dé lā , mǐ shā , Yàbó ní gē guǎnlǐ Bābǐlún shĕng/xǐng de shì wù , zhǐshì Dànyǐlǐ cháng zaì chaó/zhāo zhōng shì lì .
49 Moreover, at Daniel’s request the king appointed Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego administrators over the province of Babylon, while Daniel himself remained at the royal court.
