Ephesians 4:17-24

NLT 17 With the Lord’s authority I say this: Live no longer as the Gentiles do, for they are hopelessly confused. NIV 17 So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking. NLT 18 Their minds are full of darkness; they wander far from the life God gives because they have closed their minds and hardened their hearts against him. NIV 18 They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts. NLT 19 They have no sense of shame. They live for lustful pleasure and eagerly practice every kind of impurity. NIV 19 Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, and they are full of greed. NLT 20 But that isn’t what you learned about Christ. NIV 20 That, however, is not the way of life you learned NLT 21 Since you have heard about Jesus and have learned the truth that comes from him, NIV 21 when you heard about Christ and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus. NLT 22 throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. NIV 22 You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; NLT 23 Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. NIV 23 to be made new in the attitude of your minds; NLT 24 Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy. NIV 24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
