1 Yǒu yī gè Lìwèi jiā de rén qǔ le yī gè Lìwèi nǚzi wéi qì .
1 Now a man of the tribe of Levi married a Levite woman,
2 Nà nǚrén huáiyùn , shēng yī gè érzi , jiàn tā jùnmĕi , jiù cáng le tā sān gè yuè ,
2 and she became pregnant and gave birth to a son. When she saw that he was a fine child, she hid him for three months.
3 Hòulái bùnéng zaì cáng , jiù qǔ le yī gè púcǎo xiāng , mā shàng shí qī hé shí yóu , jiāng háizi fàng zaì lǐtou , bǎ xiāngzi gē zaì hé bian de lú dí zhōng .
3 But when she could hide him no longer, she got a papyrus basket for him and coated it with tar and pitch. Then she placed the child in it and put it among the reeds along the bank of the Nile.
4 Háizi de zǐ zǐ yuǎn yuǎn zhàn zhe , yào zhīdào tā jiūjìng zĕnmeyàng .
4 His sister stood at a distance to see what would happen to him.
5 Fǎlǎo de nǚér lái dào hé bian xǐzǎo , tāde shǐnǚ men zaì hé bian xíng zǒu . tā kànjian xiāngzi zaì lú dí zhōng , jiù dǎfa yī gè bìnǚ ná lái .
5 Then Pharaoh’s daughter went down to the Nile to bathe, and her attendants were walking along the riverbank. She saw the basket among the reeds and sent her female slave to get it.
6 Tā dǎkāi xiāngzi , kànjian nà háizi . háizi kū le , tā jiù kĕliàn tā , shuō , zhè shì Xībólái rén de yī gè háizi .
6 She opened it and saw the baby. He was crying, and she felt sorry for him. “This is one of the Hebrew babies,” she said.
7 Háizi de zǐ zǐ duì fǎlǎo de nǚér shuō , wǒ qù zaì Xībólái fùrén zhōng jiào yī gè nǎi mā lái , wèi nǐ nǎi zhè háizi , kĕyǐ bùkĕ yǐ .
7 Then his sister asked Pharaoh’s daughter, “Shall I go and get one of the Hebrew women to nurse the baby for you?”
8 Fǎlǎo de nǚér shuō , kĕyǐ . tóngnǚ jiù qù jiào le háizi de mǔqin lái .
8 “Yes, go,” she answered. So the girl went and got the baby’s mother.
9 Fǎlǎo de nǚér duì tā shuō , nǐ bǎ zhè háizi bào qù , wèi wǒ nǎi tā , wǒ bì gĕi nǐ gōngjià . fùrén jiù bào le háizi qù nǎi tā .
9 Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, “Take this baby and nurse him for me, and I will pay you.” So the woman took the baby and nursed him.
10 Háizi jiàn zhǎng , fùrén bǎ tā daì dào fǎlǎo de nǚér nàli , jiù zuò le tāde érzi . tā gĕi háizi qǐmíng jiào Móxī , yìsi shuō , yīn wǒ bǎ tā cóng shuǐ lǐ lā chūlai .
10 When the child grew older, she took him to Pharaoh’s daughter and he became her son. She named him Moses, saying, “I drew him out of the water.”
11 Hòulái , Móxī zhǎngdà , tā chū qù dào tā dìxiōng nàli , kàn tāmende zhòngdàn , jiàn yī gè Āijí rén dǎ Xībólái rén de yī gè dìxiōng .
11 One day, after Moses had grown up, he went out to where his own people were and watched them at their hard labor. He saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his own people.
12 Tā zuǒyòu guānkàn , jiàn méiyǒu rén , jiù bǎ Āijí rén dá sǐ le , cáng zaì shā tǔ lǐ .
12 Looking this way and that and seeing no one, he killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand.
13 Dì èr tiān tā chū qù , jiàn yǒu liǎng gè Xībólái rén zhēngdòu , jiù duì nà qīfu rén de shuō , nǐ wèishénme dǎ nǐ tóng zú de rén ne .
13 The next day he went out and saw two Hebrews fighting. He asked the one in the wrong, “Why are you hitting your fellow Hebrew?”
14 Nà rén shuō , shuí lì nǐ zuò wǒmen de shǒulǐng hé shĕnpàn guān ne , nándào nǐ yào shā wǒ , xiàng shā nà Āijí rén ma . Móxī biàn jùpà , shuō , zhè shì bì shì beì rén zhīdào le .
14 The man said, “Who made you ruler and judge over us? Are you thinking of killing me as you killed the Egyptian?” Then Moses was afraid and thought, “What I did must have become known.”
15 Fǎlǎo tīngjian zhè shì , jiù xiǎng shā Móxī , dàn Móxī duǒbì fǎlǎo , taó wǎng Mǐdiàn dì jūzhù .
15 When Pharaoh heard of this, he tried to kill Moses, but Moses fled from Pharaoh and went to live in Midian, where he sat down by a well.
16 Yī rì , tā zaì jǐng páng zuò xià . Mǐdiàn de jìsī yǒu qī gè nǚér , tāmen lái dá shuǐ , Dámǎn le caó , yào yìn fùqin de qún yáng .
16 Now a priest of Midian had seven daughters, and they came to draw water and fill the troughs to water their father’s flock.
17 Yǒu mù yáng de rén lái , bǎ tāmen gǎn zǒu le , Móxī què qǐlai bāngzhu tāmen , yòu yìn le tāmen de qún yáng .
17 Some shepherds came along and drove them away, but Moses got up and came to their rescue and watered their flock.
18 Tāmen lái dào fùqin Liúĕr nàli , tā shuō , jīnrì nǐmen wèihé lái de zhème kuaì ne .
18 When the girls returned to Reuel their father, he asked them, “Why have you returned so early today?”
19 Tāmen shuō , yǒu yī gè Āijí rén jiù wǒmen tuōlí mù yáng rén de shǒu , bìngqiĕ wèi wǒmen dá shuǐ yìn le qún yáng .
19 They answered, “An Egyptian rescued us from the shepherds. He even drew water for us and watered the flock.”
20 Tā duì nǚér men shuō , nàge rén zaì nǎli , nǐmen wèishénme piĕ xià tā ne . nǐmen qù qǐng tā lái chī fàn .
20 “And where is he?” Reuel asked his daughters. “Why did you leave him? Invite him to have something to eat.”
21 Móxī gānxīn hé nà rén tóng zhù , nà rén bǎ tāde nǚér Xīpōlā gĕi Móxī wéi qì .
21 Moses agreed to stay with the man, who gave his daughter Zipporah to Moses in marriage.
22 Xīpōlā shēng le yī gè érzi , Móxī gĕi tā qǐmíng jiào Géshùn , yìsi shuō , yīn wǒ zaì waì bāng zuò le jìjū de .
22 Zipporah gave birth to a son, and Moses named him Gershom, saying, “I have become a foreigner in a foreign land.”
23 Guò le duō nián , Āijí wáng sǐ le . Yǐsèliè rén yīn zuò kǔ gōng , jiù tànxī āi qiú , tāmende āi shēng dá yú shén .
23 During that long period, the king of Egypt died. The Israelites groaned in their slavery and cried out, and their cry for help because of their slavery went up to God.
24 Shén tīngjian tāmende āi shēng , jiù jìniàn tā yǔ Yàbólāhǎn , Yǐsā , Yǎgè suǒ lì de yuē .
24 God heard their groaning and he remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac and with Jacob.
25 Shén kàn gù Yǐsèliè rén , yĕ zhīdào tāmende kǔ qíng .
25 So God looked on the Israelites and was concerned about them.
