Genesis 18:9-15

NRSA 9 They said to him, "Where is your wife Sarah?" And he said, "There, in the tent." NIV 9 “Where is your wife Sarah?” they asked him. “There, in the tent,” he said. NRSA 10 Then one said, "I will surely return to you in due season, and your wife Sarah shall have a son." And Sarah was listening at the tent entrance behind him. NIV 10 Then one of them said, “I will surely return to you about this time next year, and Sarah your wife will have a son.” Now Sarah was listening at the entrance to the tent, which was behind him. NRSA 11 Now Abraham and Sarah were old, advanced in age; it had ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women. NIV 11 Abraham and Sarah were already very old, and Sarah was past the age of childbearing. NRSA 12 So Sarah laughed to herself, saying, "After I have grown old, and my husband is old, shall I have pleasure?" NIV 12 So Sarah laughed to herself as she thought, “After I am worn out and my lord is old, will I now have this pleasure?” NRSA 13 The Lord said to Abraham, "Why did Sarah laugh, and say, "Shall I indeed bear a child, now that I am old?' NIV 13 Then the LORD said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh and say, ‘Will I really have a child, now that I am old?’ NRSA 14 Is anything too wonderful for the Lord? At the set time I will return to you, in due season, and Sarah shall have a son." NIV 14 Is anything too hard for the LORD? I will return to you at the appointed time next year, and Sarah will have a son.” NRSA 15 But Sarah denied, saying, "I did not laugh"; for she was afraid. He said, "Oh yes, you did laugh." NIV 15 Sarah was afraid, so she lied and said, “I did not laugh.” But he said, “Yes, you did laugh.”
