1 Palabra que vio Isaías, hijo de Amoz, tocante a Judá y a Jerusalén

2 Y acontecerá en lo postrero de los tiempos, que será confirmado el Monte de la Casa del SEÑOR por cabeza de los montes; y será ensalzado sobre los collados; y correrán a él todos los gentiles

3 y vendrán muchos pueblos, y dirán: Venid, y subamos al Monte del SEÑOR, a la Casa del Dios de Jacob; y nos enseñará en sus caminos, y caminaremos por sus sendas. Porque de Sion saldrá la ley, y de Jerusalén la palabra del SEÑOR

4 Y juzgará entre los gentiles, y reprenderá a muchos pueblos; y volverán sus espadas en rejas de arado, y sus lanzas en hoces; no alzará espada gente contra gente, ni se ensayarán más para la guerra

5 Venid, oh casa de Jacob, y caminemos a la luz del SEÑOR

6 Ciertamente tú has dejado tu pueblo, la casa de Jacob, porque están henchidos de oriente, y de agoreros, como los filisteos; y en hijos ajenos descansan

7 Su tierra está llena de plata y oro, sus tesoros no <em>tienen</em> fin. También está su tierra llena de caballos; ni sus carros tienen número

8 Además está su tierra llena de ídolos, y a la obra de sus manos se han arrodillado, a lo que fabricaron sus dedos

9 Y <em>todo</em> hombre se ha inclinado, y <em>todo</em> varón se ha humillado, por tanto, no los perdonarás

10 Métete en la piedra, escóndete en el polvo, de la presencia espantosa del SEÑOR y del resplandor de su majestad

11 La altivez de los ojos del hombre <em>será</em> abatida; y la soberbia de los hombres será humillada; y solo el SEÑOR será ensalzado en aquel día

12 Porque día del SEÑOR de los ejércitos <em>vendrá</em> sobre todo soberbio y altivo, y sobre todo ensalzado; y será abatido

13 y sobre todos los cedros del Líbano altos y sublimes; y sobre todos los alcornoques de Basán

14 y sobre todos los montes altos, y sobre todos los collados levantados

15 y sobre toda torre alta, y sobre todo muro fuerte

16 y sobre todas las naves de Tarsis, y sobre todas <em>las</em> pinturas preciadas

17 Y la altivez del hombre será abatida, y la soberbia de los hombres será humillada; y solo el SEÑOR será ensalzado en aquel día

18 Y quitará totalmente los ídolos

19 Y se meterán en las cavernas de las peñas, y en las aberturas de la tierra, por la presencia espantosa del SEÑOR, y por el resplandor de su majestad, cuando él se levantará para herir la tierra

20 Aquel día el hombre arrojará en las cuevas de los topos, y de los murciélagos, sus ídolos de plata y sus ídolos de oro, que le hicieron para que adorara

21 y se meterán en las hendiduras de las piedras, y en las cavernas de las peñas, delante de la presencia temerosa del SEÑOR, y del resplandor de su majestad, cuando se levantare para herir la tierra

22 Dejaos del hombre, cuyo aliento está en su nariz; porque ¿de qué es el estimado

1 This is what Isaiah son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem:

2 In the last days the mountain of the LORD’s temple will be established as the highest of the mountains; it will be exalted above the hills, and all nations will stream to it.

3 Many peoples will come and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the temple of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths.” The law will go out from Zion, the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

4 He will judge between the nations and will settle disputes for many peoples. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore.

5 Come, descendants of Jacob, let us walk in the light of the LORD.

6 You, LORD, have abandoned your people, the descendants of Jacob. They are full of superstitions from the East; they practice divination like the Philistines and embrace pagan customs.

7 Their land is full of silver and gold; there is no end to their treasures. Their land is full of horses; there is no end to their chariots.

8 Their land is full of idols; they bow down to the work of their hands, to what their fingers have made.

9 So people will be brought low and everyone humbled— do not forgive them.

10 Go into the rocks, hide in the ground from the fearful presence of the LORDand the splendor of his majesty!

11 The eyes of the arrogant will be humbled and human pride brought low; the LORD alone will be exalted in that day.

12 The LORD Almighty has a day in store for all the proud and lofty, for all that is exalted (and they will be humbled),

13 for all the cedars of Lebanon, tall and lofty, and all the oaks of Bashan,

14 for all the towering mountains and all the high hills,

15 for every lofty tower and every fortified wall,

16 for every trading shipand every stately vessel.

17 The arrogance of man will be brought low and human pride humbled; the LORD alone will be exalted in that day,

18 and the idols will totally disappear.

19 People will flee to caves in the rocks and to holes in the ground from the fearful presence of the LORDand the splendor of his majesty, when he rises to shake the earth.

20 In that day people will throw away to the moles and bats their idols of silver and idols of gold, which they made to worship.

21 They will flee to caverns in the rocks and to the overhanging crags from the fearful presence of the LORDand the splendor of his majesty, when he rises to shake the earth.

22 Stop trusting in mere humans, who have but a breath in their nostrils. Why hold them in esteem?
