1 Mensaje acerca de Babilonia<br />Este es el mensaje que recibí acerca de Babilonia, el desierto junto al mar:<br />Desde el desierto se acerca el desastre y te caerá encima,<br />como un remolino que entra arrasando desde el Neguev.

A prophecy against the Desert by the Sea: Like whirlwinds sweeping through the southland, an invader comes from the desert, from a land of terror.
2 Veo una visión aterradora:<br />veo al traidor traicionando,<br />al destructor destruyendo.<br />Adelante, ustedes, elamitas y medos:<br />ataquen y asedien.<br />Yo pondré fin a todos los gemidos<br />que provocó Babilonia.

A dire vision has been shown to me: The traitor betrays, the looter takes loot. Elam, attack! Media, lay siege! I will bring to an end all the groaning she caused.
3 El estómago me duele y me arde de dolor;<br />me dominan agudas punzadas de angustia,<br />como las de una mujer en parto.<br />Me desmayo cuando oigo lo que Dios se propone hacer:<br />tengo demasiado miedo para mirar.

At this my body is racked with pain, pangs seize me, like those of a woman in labor; I am staggered by what I hear, I am bewildered by what I see.
4 La cabeza me da vueltas y se me acelera el corazón;<br />anhelaba que llegara la noche,<br />pero ahora la oscuridad me da terror.

My heart falters, fear makes me tremble; the twilight I longed for has become a horror to me.
5 ¡Miren! Están preparando un gran banquete;<br />están extendiendo alfombras para que la gente se siente.<br />Todos comen y beben.<br />Pero ¡rápido!, tomen los escudos y prepárense para la batalla.<br />¡Los están atacando!

They set the tables, they spread the rugs, they eat, they drink! Get up, you officers, oil the shields!
6 Mientras tanto, el Señor me dijo:<br />«Pon un centinela sobre la muralla de la ciudad;<br />que advierta a gritos lo que ve.

This is what the Lord says to me: “Go, post a lookout and have him report what he sees.
7 Deberá estar atento por carros de guerra<br />tirados por un par de caballos,<br />y jinetes sobre burros y camellos.<br />Que el centinela esté bien alerta».

When he sees chariots with teams of horses, riders on donkeys or riders on camels, let him be alert, fully alert.”
8 Luego el centinela<br /> gritó:<br />«Día tras día me he mantenido de pie sobre la torre de vigilancia, mi señor;<br />noche tras noche he permanecido en mi puesto.

And the lookout shouted, “Day after day, my lord, I stand on the watchtower; every night I stay at my post.
9 Y ahora, por fin, ¡mire!<br />¡Ahí viene un hombre en un carro de guerra<br />con un par de caballos!».<br />Entonces el centinela dijo:<br />«¡Ha caído Babilonia, ha caído!<br />¡Todos los ídolos de Babilonia<br />yacen en el suelo, hechos pedazos!».

Look, here comes a man in a chariot with a team of horses. And he gives back the answer: ‘Babylon has fallen, has fallen! All the images of its gods lie shattered on the ground!’ ”
10 Pueblo mío, trillado y aventado,<br />te he transmitido todo lo que el Señor<br /> de los Ejércitos Celestiales dijo;<br />todo lo que me ha dicho el Dios de Israel.

My people who are crushed on the threshing floor, I tell you what I have heard from the LORD Almighty, from the God of Israel.
11 Mensaje acerca de Edom<br />Este es el mensaje que recibí acerca de Edom:<br />Alguien de Edom<br /> sigue llamándome:<br />«Centinela, ¿cuánto falta para la mañana?<br />¿Cuándo se acabará la noche?».

A prophecy against Dumah : Someone calls to me from Seir, “Watchman, what is left of the night? Watchman, what is left of the night?”
12 El centinela contesta:<br />«Ya llega la mañana, pero pronto volverá la noche.<br />Si quieres preguntar otra vez, entonces regresa y pregunta».

The watchman replies, “Morning is coming, but also the night. If you would ask, then ask; and come back yet again.”
13 Mensaje acerca de Arabia<br />Este es el mensaje que recibí acerca de Arabia:<br />Oh caravanas de Dedán,<br />escóndanse en los desiertos de Arabia.

A prophecy against Arabia: You caravans of Dedanites, who camp in the thickets of Arabia,
14 Oh gente de Tema,<br />lleven agua a esta gente sedienta,<br />alimento a estos refugiados agotados.

bring water for the thirsty; you who live in Tema, bring food for the fugitives.
15 Han huido de la espada,<br />de la espada desenvainada,<br />del arco tensado<br />y de los terrores de la batalla.

They flee from the sword, from the drawn sword, from the bent bow and from the heat of battle.

This is what the Lord says to me: “Within one year, as a servant bound by contract would count it, all the splendor of Kedar will come to an end.

The survivors of the archers, the warriors of Kedar, will be few.” The LORD, the God of Israel, has spoken.
