5 And dost thou seek great things for thyself? seek <em>them</em> not; for, behold, I bring evil upon all flesh, said the LORD: but I will give thee thy life as a spoil <em>of battle</em> in all places where thou goest.
5 Should you then seek great things for yourself? Do not seek them. For I will bring disaster on all people, declares the LORD, but wherever you go I will let you escape with your life.’ ”
