ESV 35 And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed. ESV 36 And Simon and those who were with him searched for him, NIV 36 Simon and his companions went to look for him, ESV 37 and they found him and said to him, "Everyone is looking for you." NIV 37 and when they found him, they exclaimed: “Everyone is looking for you!” ESV 38 And he said to them, "Let us go on to the next towns, that I may preach there also, for that is why I came out." NIV 38 Jesus replied, “Let us go somewhere else—to the nearby villages—so I can preach there also. That is why I have come.” ESV 39 And he went throughout all Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and casting out demons. NIV 39 So he traveled throughout Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and driving out demons. ESV 40 And a leper came to him, imploring him, and kneeling said to him, "If you will, you can make me clean." NIV 40 A man with leprosy came to him and begged him on his knees, “If you are willing, you can make me clean.” ESV 41 Moved with pity, he stretched out his hand and touched him and said to him, "I will; be clean." NIV 41 Jesus was indignant. He reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” ESV 42 And immediately the leprosy left him, and he was made clean. NIV 42 Immediately the leprosy left him and he was cleansed. ESV 43 And Jesus sternly charged him and sent him away at once, NIV 43 Jesus sent him away at once with a strong warning: ESV 44 and said to him, "See that you say nothing to anyone, but go, show yourself to the priest and offer for your cleansing what Moses commanded, for a proof to them." NIV 44 “See that you don’t tell this to anyone. But go, show yourself to the priest and offer the sacrifices that Moses commanded for your cleansing, as a testimony to them.” ESV 45 But he went out and began to talk freely about it, and to spread the news, so that Jesus could no longer openly enter a town, but was out in desolate places, and people were coming to him from every quarter. NIV 45 Instead he went out and began to talk freely, spreading the news. As a result, Jesus could no longer enter a town openly but stayed outside in lonely places. Yet the people still came to him from everywhere.
