1 Salmo 18<br />Para el director del coro: salmo de David, siervo del Señor<br />. Entonó este cántico al Señor<br /> el día que el Señor<br /> lo rescató de todos sus enemigos y de Saúl. Cantó así:<br />Te amo, Señor<br />;<br />tú eres mi fuerza.

I love you, LORD, my strength.
2 El Señor<br /> es mi roca, mi fortaleza y mi salvador;<br />mi Dios es mi roca, en quien encuentro protección.<br />Él es mi escudo, el poder que me salva<br />y mi lugar seguro.

The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
3 Clamé al Señor<br />, quien es digno de alabanza,<br />y me salvó de mis enemigos.

I called to the LORD, who is worthy of praise, and I have been saved from my enemies.
4 Me enredaron las cuerdas de la muerte;<br />me arrasó una inundación devastadora.

The cords of death entangled me; the torrents of destruction overwhelmed me.
5 La tumba<br /> me envolvió con sus cuerdas;<br />la muerte me tendió una trampa en el camino.

The cords of the grave coiled around me; the snares of death confronted me.
6 Pero en mi angustia, clamé al Señor<br />;<br />sí, oré a mi Dios para pedirle ayuda.<br />Él me oyó desde su santuario;<br />mi clamor llegó a sus oídos.

In my distress I called to the LORD; I cried to my God for help. From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came before him, into his ears.
7 Entonces la tierra se estremeció y tembló;<br />se sacudieron los cimientos de las montañas;<br />temblaron a causa de su enojo.

The earth trembled and quaked, and the foundations of the mountains shook; they trembled because he was angry.
8 De su nariz salía humo a raudales,<br />de su boca saltaban violentas llamas de fuego;<br />carbones encendidos se disparaban de él.

Smoke rose from his nostrils; consuming fire came from his mouth, burning coals blazed out of it.
9 Abrió los cielos y descendió;<br />había oscuras nubes de tormenta debajo de sus pies.

He parted the heavens and came down; dark clouds were under his feet.
10 Voló montado sobre un poderoso ser angelical,<br />remontándose sobre las alas del viento.

He mounted the cherubim and flew; he soared on the wings of the wind.
11 Se envolvió con un manto de oscuridad<br />y ocultó su llegada con oscuras nubes de lluvia.

He made darkness his covering, his canopy around him— the dark rain clouds of the sky.
12 Nubes densas taparon el brillo a su alrededor,<br />e hicieron llover granizo y carbones encendidos.

Out of the brightness of his presence clouds advanced, with hailstones and bolts of lightning.
13 El Señor<br /> retumbó desde el cielo;<br />la voz del Altísimo resonó<br />en medio del granizo y de los carbones encendidos.

The LORD thundered from heaven; the voice of the Most High resounded.
14 Disparó sus flechas y dispersó a sus enemigos;<br />destelló su relámpago, y quedaron muy confundidos.

He shot his arrows and scattered the enemy, with great bolts of lightning he routed them.
15 Luego, a tu orden, oh Señor<br />,<br />a la ráfaga de tu aliento,<br />pudo verse el fondo del mar,<br />y los cimientos de la tierra quedaron al descubierto.

The valleys of the sea were exposed and the foundations of the earth laid bare at your rebuke, LORD, at the blast of breath from your nostrils.
16 Él extendió la mano desde el cielo y me rescató;<br />me sacó de aguas profundas.

He reached down from on high and took hold of me; he drew me out of deep waters.
17 Me rescató de mis enemigos poderosos,<br />de los que me odiaban y eran demasiado fuertes para mí.

He rescued me from my powerful enemy, from my foes, who were too strong for me.
18 Me atacaron en un momento de angustia,<br />pero el Señor<br /> me sostuvo.

They confronted me in the day of my disaster, but the LORD was my support.
19 Me condujo a un lugar seguro;<br />me rescató porque en mí se deleita.

He brought me out into a spacious place; he rescued me because he delighted in me.
20 El Señor<br /> me recompensó por hacer lo correcto;<br />me restauró debido a mi inocencia.

The LORD has dealt with me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands he has rewarded me.
21 Pues he permanecido en los caminos del Señor<br />;<br />no me he apartado de mi Dios para seguir el mal.

For I have kept the ways of the LORD; I am not guilty of turning from my God.
22 He seguido todas sus ordenanzas,<br />nunca he abandonado sus decretos.

All his laws are before me; I have not turned away from his decrees.
23 Soy intachable delante de Dios;<br />me he abstenido del pecado.

I have been blameless before him and have kept myself from sin.
24 El Señor<br /> me recompensó por hacer lo correcto;<br />él ha visto mi inocencia.

The LORD has rewarded me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in his sight.
25 Con los fieles te muestras fiel;<br />a los íntegros les muestras integridad.

To the faithful you show yourself faithful, to the blameless you show yourself blameless,
26 Con los puros te muestras puro,<br />pero te muestras hostil con los perversos.

to the pure you show yourself pure, but to the devious you show yourself shrewd.
27 Rescatas al humilde,<br />pero humillas al orgulloso.

You save the humble but bring low those whose eyes are haughty.
28 Enciendes una lámpara para mí.<br />El Señor<br />, mi Dios, ilumina mi oscuridad.

You, LORD, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light.
29 Con tu fuerza puedo aplastar a un ejército;<br />con mi Dios puedo escalar cualquier muro.

With your help I can advance against a troop ; with my God I can scale a wall.
30 El camino de Dios es perfecto.<br />Todas las promesas del Señor<br /> demuestran ser verdaderas.<br />Él es escudo para todos los que buscan su protección.

As for God, his way is perfect: The LORD’s word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him.

For who is God besides the LORD? And who is the Rock except our God?
32 Dios me arma de fuerza<br />y hace perfecto mi camino.

It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure.
33 Me hace andar tan seguro como un ciervo,<br />para que pueda pararme en las alturas de las montañas.

He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; he causes me to stand on the heights.
34 Entrena mis manos para la batalla;<br />fortalece mi brazo para tensar un arco de bronce.

He trains my hands for battle; my arms can bend a bow of bronze.
35 Me has dado tu escudo de victoria.<br />Tu mano derecha me sostiene;<br />tu ayuda me ha engrandecido.

You make your saving help my shield, and your right hand sustains me; your help has made me great.
36 Has trazado un camino ancho para mis pies<br />a fin de evitar que resbalen.

You provide a broad path for my feet, so that my ankles do not give way.
37 Perseguí a mis enemigos y los alcancé;<br />no me detuve hasta verlos vencidos.

I pursued my enemies and overtook them; I did not turn back till they were destroyed.
38 Los herí de muerte para que no pudieran levantarse;<br />cayeron debajo de mis pies.

I crushed them so that they could not rise; they fell beneath my feet.
39 Me has armado de fuerza para la batalla;<br />has sometido a mis enemigos debajo de mis pies.

You armed me with strength for battle; you humbled my adversaries before me.
40 Pusiste mi pie sobre su cuello;<br />destruí a todos los que me odiaban.

You made my enemies turn their backs in flight, and I destroyed my foes.
41 Pidieron ayuda, pero nadie fue a rescatarlos.<br />Hasta clamaron al Señor<br />, pero él se negó a responder.

They cried for help, but there was no one to save them— to the LORD, but he did not answer.
42 Los molí tan fino como el polvo que se lleva el viento.<br />Los barrí y los eché a la calle como suciedad.

I beat them as fine as windblown dust; I trampled them like mud in the streets.

You have delivered me from the attacks of the people; you have made me the head of nations. People I did not know now serve me,
44 En cuanto oyen hablar de mí, se rinden;<br />naciones extranjeras se arrastran ante mí.

foreigners cower before me; as soon as they hear of me, they obey me.
45 Todas pierden el valor<br />y salen temblando de sus fortalezas.

They all lose heart; they come trembling from their strongholds.
46 ¡El Señor<br /> vive! ¡Alabanzas a mi Roca!<br />¡Exaltado sea el Dios de mi salvación!

The LORD lives! Praise be to my Rock! Exalted be God my Savior!
47 Él es el Dios que da su merecido a los que me dañan;<br />él somete a las naciones bajo mi control

He is the God who avenges me, who subdues nations under me,
48 y me rescata de mis enemigos.<br />Tú me mantienes seguro, lejos del alcance de mis enemigos;<br />me salvas de adversarios violentos.

who saves me from my enemies. You exalted me above my foes; from a violent man you rescued me.
49 Por eso, oh Señor<br />, te alabaré entre las naciones;<br />cantaré alabanzas a tu nombre.

Therefore I will praise you, LORD, among the nations; I will sing the praises of your name.
50 Le das grandes victorias a tu rey;<br />le muestras amor inagotable a tu ungido,<br />a David y a todos sus descendientes para siempre.

He gives his king great victories; he shows unfailing love to his anointed, to David and to his descendants forever.
