Psalms 61

NCV

NIV

1 God, hear my cry; listen to my prayer.
1 Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer.
2 I call to you from the ends of the earth when I am afraid. Carry me away to a high mountain.
2 From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
3 You have been my protection, like a strong tower against my enemies.
3 For you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the foe.
4 Let me live in your Holy Tent forever. Let me find safety in the shelter of your wings. Selah
4 I long to dwell in your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of your wings.
5 God, you have heard my promises. You have given me what belongs to those who fear you.
5 For you, God, have heard my vows; you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.
6 Give the king a long life; let him live many years.
6 Increase the days of the king’s life, his years for many generations.
7 Let him rule in the presence of God forever. Protect him with your love and truth.
7 May he be enthroned in God’s presence forever; appoint your love and faithfulness to protect him.
8 Then I will praise your name forever, and every day I will keep my promises.
8 Then I will ever sing in praise of your name and fulfill my vows day after day.
