1 El que habita en el escondedero del Altísimo, morará bajo la sombra del Omnipotente.

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 Dirá al SEÑOR: Esperanza mía, y castillo mío; mi Dios, me aseguraré en él.

I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
3 Y él te librará del lazo del cazador; de la mortandad que todo asuela.

Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence.
4 Con su ala te cubrirá, y debajo de sus alas estarás seguro; escudo y adarga <I>es</I> su verdad.

He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
5 No tendrás temor de espanto nocturno, <I>ni</I> de saeta que vuele de día;

You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day,
6 <I>ni</I> de pestilencia que ande en oscuridad, <I>ni</I> de mortandad que destruya al mediodía.

nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday.
7 Caerán a tu lado mil, y diez mil a tu diestra; <I>pero</I> a ti no llegará.

A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.
8 Ciertamente con tus ojos mirarás, y verás la recompensa de los impíos.

You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked.
9 Porque tú, oh SEÑOR, <I>eres</I> mi esperanza; y al Altísimo has puesto <I>por</I> tu habitación,

If you say, “The LORD is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling,
10 no se ordenará para ti mal, ni plaga tocará tu morada.

no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent.
11 Porque a sus ángeles mandará <I>acerca</I> de ti, que te guarden en todos tus caminos.

For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways;
12 En las manos te llevarán, para que tu pie no tropiece en piedra.

they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
13 Sobre el león y el basilisco pisarás; hollarás al cachorro del león, y al dragón.

You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
14 Por cuanto en mí ha puesto su voluntad, <I>yo</I> también lo libraré; lo pondré en alto, por cuanto ha conocido mi Nombre.

“Because he loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
15 Me invocará, y <I>yo</I> le responderé; con él <I>estaré</I> yo en la angustia; lo libraré, y le glorificaré.

He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.
16 Lo saciaré de larga vida, y le mostraré mi salud.

With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”
