9 Habrá aflicción y angustia para todos los que siguen haciendo lo malo, para los judíos primero y también para los gentiles;

10 pero habrá gloria, honra y paz de parte de Dios para todos los que hacen lo bueno, para los judíos primero y también para los gentiles.

11 Pues Dios no muestra favoritismo.

12 Los gentiles serán destruidos por el hecho de pecar, aunque nunca tuvieron la ley escrita de Dios; y los judíos, quienes sí tienen la ley de Dios, serán juzgados por esa ley porque no la obedecen.

13 Pues el simple acto de escuchar la ley no nos hace justos ante Dios. Es obedecer la ley lo que nos hace justos ante sus ojos.

14 Aun los gentiles, quienes no cuentan con la ley escrita de Dios, muestran que conocen esa ley cuando, por instinto, la obedecen aunque nunca la hayan oído.

15 Ellos demuestran que tienen la ley de Dios escrita en el corazón, porque su propia conciencia y sus propios pensamientos o los acusan o bien les indican que están haciendo lo correcto.

16 Y el mensaje que proclamo es que se acerca el día en que Dios juzgará, por medio de Cristo Jesús, la vida secreta de cada uno.

17 Los judíos y la ley<br />Tú, que te llamas judío, confías en la ley de Dios y te jactas de tu relación especial con él.

18 Tú sabes lo que a él le agrada, sabes bien qué es lo correcto, porque se te ha enseñado su ley.

19 Estás convencido de que eres guía para los ciegos y luz para los que andan perdidos en la oscuridad.

9 There will be trouble and distress for every human being who does evil: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile;

10 but glory, honor and peace for everyone who does good: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.

11 For God does not show favoritism.

12 All who sin apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law.

13 For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God’s sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous.

14 (Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law.

15 They show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts sometimes accusing them and at other times even defending them.)

16 This will take place on the day when God judges people’s secrets through Jesus Christ, as my gospel declares.

17 Now you, if you call yourself a Jew; if you rely on the law and boast in God;

18 if you know his will and approve of what is superior because you are instructed by the law;

19 if you are convinced that you are a guide for the blind, a light for those who are in the dark,
