1 Zhèyàng shuō lái , Yóutaìrén yǒu shénme cháng chù , gēlǐ yǒu shénme yìchu ne .
1 What advantage, then, is there in being a Jew, or what value is there in circumcision?
2 Fán shì dà yǒu hǎo chù . dì yī shì shén de shèng yán jiāo tuō tāmen .
2 Much in every way! First of all, the Jews have been entrusted with the very words of God.
3 Jì biàn yǒu bú xìn de , zhè yǒu hè fáng ne . nándào tāmende bú xìn , jiù feìdiào shén de xìn má .
3 What if some were unfaithful? Will their unfaithfulness nullify God’s faithfulness?
4 Duànhū bùnéng . bú rú shuō , shén shì zhēn shí de , rén dōu shì xū huǎng de . rú jìng shàng suǒ jì , nǐ zébeì rén de shíhou , xiǎn wèi gōngyì . beì rén yìlùn de shíhou , kĕyǐ déshèng .
4 Not at all! Let God be true, and every human being a liar. As it is written: “So that you may be proved right when you speak and prevail when you judge.”
5 Wǒ qiĕ zhào zhe rén de cháng huà shuō , wǒmen de bú yì , ruò xiǎn chūshén de yì lái , wǒmen kĕyǐ zĕnme shuō ne . shén jiàng nù , shì tā bú yì má .
5 But if our unrighteousness brings out God’s righteousness more clearly, what shall we say? That God is unjust in bringing his wrath on us? (I am using a human argument.)
6 Duànhū bú shì . ruò shì zhèyàng , shén zĕn néng shĕnpàn shìjiè ne .
6 Certainly not! If that were so, how could God judge the world?
7 Ruò shén de zhēn shí , yīn wǒde xū huǎng , yuèfā xiǎn chū tāde róngyào , wèishénme wǒ hái shòu shĕnpàn , hǎoxiàng zuì rén ne .
7 Someone might argue, “If my falsehood enhances God’s truthfulness and so increases his glory, why am I still condemned as a sinner?”
8 Wèishénme bú shuō , wǒmen kĕyǐ zú ĕ yǐ chéng shàn ne , zhè shì huǐbàng wǒmen de rén , shuō wǒmen yǒu zhè huà . zhè dĕng rén dìng zuì , shì gāi dàng de .
8 Why not say—as some slanderously claim that we say—“Let us do evil that good may result”? Their condemnation is just!
9 Zhè què zĕnmeyàng ne . wǒmen bǐ tāmen jiàng má . jué bú shì de . yīnwei wǒmen yǐjing zhèngmíng , Yóutaìrén hé Xīlà rén dōu zaì zuìè zhī xià .
9 What shall we conclude then? Do we have any advantage? Not at all! For we have already made the charge that Jews and Gentiles alike are all under the power of sin.
10 Jiù rú jìng shàng suǒ jì , méiyǒu yì rén , lián yī gè yĕ méiyǒu .
10 As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one;
11 Méiyǒu míngbai de , méiyǒu xúnqiú shén de .
11 there is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God.
12 Dōu shì piānlí zhèng lù , yītóng biàn wéi wúyòng . méiyǒu xíng shàn de , lián yī gè yĕ méiyǒu .
12 All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one.”
13 Tāmende hóulóng shì chǎngkāi de fùnmù . tāmen yòng shétou lòng guǐzhà . zuǐchún lǐ yǒu huǐ shé de dúqì .
13 “Their throats are open graves; their tongues practice deceit.”“The poison of vipers is on their lips.”
14 Mǎn kǒu shì zhòumà kǔ dú .
14 “Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness.”
15 Shārén liúxuè tāmende jiǎo fēi pǎo .
15 “Their feet are swift to shed blood;
16 Suǒ jīngguò de lù , biàn xíng cánhaì bào nüè de shì .
16 ruin and misery mark their ways,
17 Píngān de lù , tāmen wèicéng zhīdào .
17 and the way of peace they do not know.”
18 Tāmen yǎn zhòng bú pà shén .
18 “There is no fear of God before their eyes.”
19 Wǒmen xiǎodé lǜfǎ shàng de huà , dōu shì duì lǜfǎ yǐxià zhī rén shuō de , hǎo sāi zhù gèrén de kǒu , jiào pǔ shì de rén dōu fú zaì shén de shĕnpàn zhī xià .
19 Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God.
20 Suǒyǐ fán yǒu xuèqì de méiyǒu yī gè , yīn xíng lǜfǎ , néng zaì shén miànqián chèng yì . yīnwei lǜfǎ bĕn shì jiào rén zhī zuì .
20 Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin.
21 Dàn rújīn shén de yì zaì lǜfǎ yǐwaì yǐjing xiǎnmíng chūlai , yǒu lǜfǎ hé xiānzhī wéi zhèng .
21 But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify.
22 Jiù shì shén de yì , yīn xìn Yēsū Jīdū , jiā gĕi yīqiè xiāngxìn de rén , bìng méiyǒu fēnbié .
22 This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile,
23 Yīnwei shìrén dōu fàn le zuì , kuīquē le shén de róngyào .
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
24 Rújīn què mĕng shén de ēndiǎn , yīn Jīdū Yēsū de jiùshú , jiù báibái de chēng yì .
24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
25 Shén shèlì Yēsū zuò wǎnhuí jì , shì píng zhe Yēsū de xuè , jiè zhe rén de xìn , yào xiǎnmíng shén de yì . yīnwei tā yòng rĕnnaì de xīn , kuānróng rén xiān shí suǒ fàn de zuì .
25 God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished—
26 Hǎo zaì jīn shí xiǎnmíng tāde yì , shǐ rén zhīdào tā zìjǐ wéi yì , yĕ chēng xìn Yēsū de rén wéi yì .
26 he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.
27 Where, then, is boasting? It is excluded. Because of what law? The law that requires works? No, because of the law that requires faith.
28 Suǒyǐ ( yǒu gǔ juǎn zuò yīnwei ) wǒmen kàn déng le , rén chèng yì shì yīn zhe xìn , bú zaìhu zūnxíng lǜfǎ .
28 For we maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from the works of the law.
29 Nándào shén zhī zuò Yóutaìrén de shén má . yĕ bú shì zuò waìbāngrén de shén má . shì de , yĕ zuò waìbāngrén de shén .
29 Or is God the God of Jews only? Is he not the God of Gentiles too? Yes, of Gentiles too,
30 Shén jì shì yī wèi tā jiù yào yīn xìn chèng nà shòu gēlǐ de wéi yì , yĕ yào yīn xìn chèng nà wèi shòu gēlǐ de wéi yì .
30 since there is only one God, who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through that same faith.
31 Zhèyàng , wǒmen yīn xìn feì le lǜfǎ má . duànhū bú shì , gèng shì jiāngù lǜfǎ .
31 Do we, then, nullify the law by this faith? Not at all! Rather, we uphold the law.
