1 Y vino palabra del SEÑOR de los ejércitos, diciendo

2 Así dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos: <em>Yo</em> celé a Sion con gran celo, y con gran ira la celé

3 Así dijo el SEÑOR: Yo restituiré a Sion, y moraré en medio de Jerusalén; y Jerusalén se llamará Ciudad de Verdad, y el monte del SEÑOR de los ejércitos, monte de Santidad

4 Así dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos: Aún han de morar ancianos y ancianas en las plazas de Jerusalén, y cada cual <em>con</em> bordón en su mano por la multitud de los días

5 Y las calles de la ciudad serán llenas de muchachos y muchachas, que jugarán en ellas

6 Así dice el SEÑOR de los ejércitos: Si esto parecerá dificultoso a los ojos del remanente de este pueblo en estos días, ¿también será dificultoso delante de mis ojos? Dice el SEÑOR de los ejércitos

7 Así dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos: He aquí, yo salvo mi pueblo de la tierra del oriente, y de la tierra donde se pone el sol

8 y los traeré, y habitarán en medio de Jerusalén; y me serán por pueblo, y yo seré a ellos por Dios con verdad y con justicia

9 Así dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos: Esfuércense vuestras manos, de vosotros los que oís en estos días estas palabras de la boca de los profetas, desde el día que se echó el cimiento a la Casa del SEÑOR de los ejércitos, para edificar el Templo

10 Porque antes de estos días no ha habido paga de hombre, ni paga de bestia, ni hubo paz alguna para entrante ni para saliente, a causa de la angustia; porque yo incité <em>a</em> todos los hombres, cada cual contra su compañero

11 Mas ahora no <em>lo haré</em> con el remanente de este pueblo como en aquellos días pasados, dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos

12 Porque la simiente de la paz <em>quedará</em>; la vid dará su fruto, y la tierra dará su fruto, y los cielos darán su rocío; y haré que el remanente de este pueblo posea todo esto

13 Y será que como fuisteis maldición entre los gentiles, oh Casa de Judá y Casa de Israel, así os salvaré, para que seáis bendición. No temáis, mas esfuércense vuestras manos

14 Porque así dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos: Como pensé haceros mal cuando vuestros padres me provocaron a ira, dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos, y no me arrepentí

15 así tornando he pensado hacer bien a Jerusalén y a la Casa de Judá en estos días; no temáis

16 Estas son las cosas que haréis: Hablad verdad cada cual con su prójimo; juzgad en vuestras puertas verdad y juicio de paz

17 y ninguno de vosotros piense mal en su corazón contra su prójimo, ni améis juramento falso; porque todas estas cosas son las que <em>yo</em> aborrezco, dijo el SEÑOR

18 Y vino palabra del SEÑOR de los ejércitos a mí, diciendo

19 Así dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos: El ayuno del cuarto <em>mes</em>, y el ayuno del quinto, y el ayuno del séptimo, y el ayuno del décimo, se tornarán a la Casa de Judá en gozo y alegría, y en festivas solemnidades. Amad, pues, la Verdad y la Paz

20 Así dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos: Aún vendrán pueblos, y moradores de muchas ciudades

21 y vendrán los moradores de una <em>ciudad</em> a la otra, y dirán: Vamos a orar a la faz del SEÑOR, y busquemos al SEÑOR de los ejércitos. <em>(Y el otro responderá:)</em> Yo también iré

22 Y vendrán muchos pueblos y fuertes naciones a buscar al SEÑOR de los ejércitos en Jerusalén, y a orar a la faz del SEÑOR

23 Así dijo el SEÑOR de los ejércitos: En aquellos días <em>acontecerá</em> que diez varones de todas las lenguas de los gentiles, tomarán del manto del varón judío, diciendo: Iremos con vosotros, porque hemos oído que Dios está con vosotros

1 The word of the LORD Almighty came to me.

2 This is what the LORD Almighty says: “I am very jealous for Zion; I am burning with jealousy for her.”

3 This is what the LORD says: “I will return to Zion and dwell in Jerusalem. Then Jerusalem will be called the Faithful City, and the mountain of the LORD Almighty will be called the Holy Mountain.”

4 This is what the LORD Almighty says: “Once again men and women of ripe old age will sit in the streets of Jerusalem, each of them with cane in hand because of their age.

5 The city streets will be filled with boys and girls playing there.”

6 This is what the LORD Almighty says: “It may seem marvelous to the remnant of this people at that time, but will it seem marvelous to me?” declares the LORD Almighty.

7 This is what the LORD Almighty says: “I will save my people from the countries of the east and the west.

8 I will bring them back to live in Jerusalem; they will be my people, and I will be faithful and righteous to them as their God.”

9 This is what the LORD Almighty says: “Now hear these words, ‘Let your hands be strong so that the temple may be built.’ This is also what the prophets said who were present when the foundation was laid for the house of the LORD Almighty.

10 Before that time there were no wages for people or hire for animals. No one could go about their business safely because of their enemies, since I had turned everyone against their neighbor.

11 But now I will not deal with the remnant of this people as I did in the past,” declares the LORD Almighty.

12 “The seed will grow well, the vine will yield its fruit, the ground will produce its crops, and the heavens will drop their dew. I will give all these things as an inheritance to the remnant of this people.

13 Just as you, Judah and Israel, have been a curse among the nations, so I will save you, and you will be a blessing. Do not be afraid, but let your hands be strong.”

14 This is what the LORD Almighty says: “Just as I had determined to bring disaster on you and showed no pity when your ancestors angered me,” says the LORD Almighty,

15 “so now I have determined to do good again to Jerusalem and Judah. Do not be afraid.

16 These are the things you are to do: Speak the truth to each other, and render true and sound judgment in your courts;

17 do not plot evil against each other, and do not love to swear falsely. I hate all this,” declares the LORD.

18 The word of the LORD Almighty came to me.

19 This is what the LORD Almighty says: “The fasts of the fourth, fifth, seventh and tenth months will become joyful and glad occasions and happy festivals for Judah. Therefore love truth and peace.”

20 This is what the LORD Almighty says: “Many peoples and the inhabitants of many cities will yet come,

21 and the inhabitants of one city will go to another and say, ‘Let us go at once to entreat the LORD and seek the LORD Almighty. I myself am going.’

22 And many peoples and powerful nations will come to Jerusalem to seek the LORD Almighty and to entreat him.”

23 This is what the LORD Almighty says: “In those days ten people from all languages and nations will take firm hold of one Jew by the hem of his robe and say, ‘Let us go with you, because we have heard that God is with you.’ ”
