42 des Sohnes Ethans, des Sohnes Simmas, des Sohnes Simeis,

43 des Sohnes Jachaths, des Sohnes Gersoms, des Sohnes Levis.

44 Und die Söhne Meraris, ihre Brüder, standen zur Linken: Ethan, der Sohn Kischis, des Sohnes Abdis, des Sohnes Malluks,

45 des Sohnes Haschabjas, des Sohnes Amazjas, des Sohnes Hilkijas,

46 des Sohnes Amzis, des Sohnes Banis, des Sohnes Schemers,

47 des Sohnes Machlis, des Sohnes Musis, des Sohnes Meraris, des Sohnes Levis.

48 Und ihre Brüder, die Leviten, waren gegeben zu allem Dienst der Wohnung des Hauses Gottes.

49 Und Aaron und seine Söhne räucherten auf dem Brandopferaltar und auf dem Räucheraltar, nach allem Geschäft des Allerheiligsten und um Sühnung zu tun für Israel; nach allem, was Mose, der Knecht Gottes, geboten hatte.

INTRODUCTION TO 1 CHRONICLES 6

This chapter begins with the fathers and heads of the tribe of Levi, 1Ch 6:1-3, and reckons up the high priests in the line of Eleazar, to the Babylonish captivity, 1Ch 6:4-15 gives an account of the families of the sons of Levi, 1Ch 6:16-30 and of those Levites that were employed as singers, and in other ministrations in the sanctuary in the times of David and Solomon, 1Ch 6:31-49, then follows a repetition of the sons of Aaron in the line of Eleazar, to the said times, 1Ch 6:50-53, and a recital of the dwelling places of the Levites in the several tribes, 1Ch 6:54-81.
