Deuteronomio 7:15-25

15 Y quitará el SEÑOR de ti toda enfermedad; y todas las malas plagas de Egipto, que tú conoces; no las pondrá sobre ti, antes las pondrá sobre todos los que te aborrecieren

16 Y consumirás a todos los pueblos que te da el SEÑOR tu Dios; no los perdonará tu ojo; ni servirás a sus dioses, que te será tropiezo

17 Cuando dijeres en tu corazón: Aquellos gentiles son muchos más que yo, ¿cómo los podré desarraigar

18 No tengas temor de ellos; acuérdate bien de lo que hizo el SEÑOR tu Dios con Faraón y con todo Egipto

19 de las grandes pruebas que vieron tus ojos, y de las señales y milagros, y de la mano fuerte y brazo extendido con que el SEÑOR tu Dios te sacó; así hará el SEÑOR tu Dios con todos los pueblos de cuya presencia tú temieres

20 Y también enviará el SEÑOR tu Dios sobre ellos avispas, hasta que perezcan los que quedaren, y los que se hubieren escondido de delante de ti

21 No desmayes delante de ellos, que el SEÑOR tu Dios está en medio de ti, Dios grande y terrible

22 Y el SEÑOR tu Dios echará a estos gentiles de delante de ti poco a poco; no los podrás acabar luego, para que las bestias del campo no se aumenten contra ti

23 Mas el SEÑOR tu Dios los entregará delante de ti, y él los quebrantará con grande destrozo, hasta que sean destruidos

24 Y él entregará sus reyes en tu mano, y tú destruirás el nombre de ellos de debajo del cielo; nadie te hará frente hasta que los destruyas

25 Las esculturas de sus dioses quemarás en el fuego; no codiciarás plata ni oro de sobre ellas para tomarlo para ti; para que no tropieces en ello, porque es abominación al SEÑOR tu Dios

INTRODUCTION TO DEUTERONOMY 7

In this chapter the Israelites are exhorted to destroy the seven nations of the land of Canaan, when they entered into it, and to make no alliances with them of any kind, nor suffer any remains of idolatry to continue, De 7:1-5 to observe which, and other commands of God, they are urged from the consideration of their being freely chosen of God above all other people, and of their being redeemed out of the house of bondage, and of the Lord's being a covenant keeping God to them, De 7:6-11 and it is promised them, for their further encouragement to keep the commands of God, that they should have an increase of all temporal good things, and no evils and calamities should come upon them, De 6:12-16, and, lest they should be disheartened at the numbers and might of their enemies, they are put in mind of what God had done for them in Egypt, and of what he had promised to do for them now, De 7:17-20 and they are assured that the nations should be cast out before them by little and little, until they were utterly destroyed, De 7:21-24 and the chapter is concluded with an exhortation to destroy their images, and not admit anything of that sort to be brought into their houses, De 7:25,26.
