A Festa das Cabanas

13 “Celebrem também a festa das cabanas^[a] durante sete dias, depois que ajuntarem o produto da eira e do tanque de prensar uvas.

14 Alegrem-se nessa festa com os seus filhos e as suas filhas, os seus servos e as suas servas, os levitas, os estrangeiros, os órfãos e as viúvas que vivem na sua cidade.

15 Durante sete dias celebrem a festa, dedicada ao SENHOR, o seu Deus, no local que o SENHOR escolher. Pois o SENHOR, o seu Deus, os abençoará em toda a sua colheita e em todo o trabalho de suas mãos, e a sua alegria será completa.

16 “Três vezes por ano todos os seus homens se apresentarão ao SENHOR, o seu Deus, no local que ele escolher, por ocasião da festa dos pães sem fermento, da festa das semanas e da festa das cabanas. Nenhum deles deverá apresentar-se ao SENHOR de mãos vazias:

17 cada um de vocês trará uma dádiva conforme as bênçãos recebidas do SENHOR, o seu Deus.

INTRODUCTION TO DEUTERONOMY 16

This chapter treats of the three grand yearly festivals, of the feast of passover, when, where, and what was to be sacrificed, how to be dressed, and in what manner to be eaten, De 16:1-8, of the feast of pentecost, when to begin it, where and how it was to be observed, De 16:9-12, and of the feast of tabernacles, when, where, and how long it was to be kept, De 16:13-15, which three times in the year all the males were to appear before the Lord, and not empty, De 16:16,17, an order is given for the appointment of judges in the land, to execute judgment, De 16:18-20, and the chapter is closed with a caution against planting groves, and setting up images, De 16:21,22.
