On that night could not the kingsleep, and he commanded to bring the book of records of the chronicles* ; and they were readbefore the king.

And it was foundwritten , that Mordecai had told of Bigthana and Teresh,two of the king'schamberlains, the keepers of the door, who sought to layhand on the kingAhasuerus.

And the kingsaid , What honour and dignity hath been done to Mordecai for this? Then said the king'sservants that ministered unto him, There is nothingdone for him.

And the kingsaid , Who is in the court? Now Haman was come into the outwardcourt of the king'shouse, to speak unto the king to hangMordecai on the gallows that he had prepared for him.

And the king'sservantssaid unto him, Behold, Hamanstandeth in the court. And the kingsaid , Let him come in .

So Haman came in . And the kingsaid unto him, What shall be done unto the man whom the kingdelighteth to honour? Now Hamanthought in his heart, To whom would the kingdelight to dohonourmore than to myself?
