1 Promesas de liberación
Entonces el Señor
le dijo a Moisés:
—Ahora verás lo que le haré al faraón. Cuando él sienta el peso de mi mano fuerte, dejará salir al pueblo. De hecho, ¡él mismo los echará de su tierra!

2 Dios también le dijo:
—Yo soy Yahveh, “el Señor

3 Me aparecí a Abraham, a Isaac y a Jacob como El-Shaddai, “Dios Todopoderoso”
, pero a ellos no les revelé mi nombre: Yahveh.

4 Y reafirmé mi pacto con ellos, mediante el cual prometí darles la tierra de Canaán donde vivían como extranjeros.

5 Puedes estar seguro de que oí los gemidos de los israelitas que ahora son esclavos de los egipcios, y tengo muy presente mi pacto con ellos.

6 »Por lo tanto, dile al pueblo de Israel: “Yo soy el Señor
. Te libertaré de la opresión que sufres y te rescataré de tu esclavitud en Egipto. Te redimiré con mi brazo poderoso y con grandes actos de juicio.

7 Te tomaré como pueblo mío y seré tu Dios. Entonces sabrás que yo soy el Señor
tu Dios, quien te ha librado de la opresión de Egipto.

8 Te llevaré a la tierra que juré dar a Abraham, a Isaac y a Jacob; te la daré a ti como tu posesión exclusiva. ¡Yo soy el Señor

INTRODUCTION TO EXODUS 6

The Lord encourages Moses to hope for success from his name Jehovah, and the covenant he had made with the fathers of his people, Ex 6:1-5, orders him to assure the children of Israel that he would deliver them from their bondage and burdens, and bring them into the land of Canaan; but through their distress and anguish they hearkened not to him, Ex 6:6-9 but Moses is sent again to Pharaoh to demand the dismission of Israel, to which he seems unwilling, and both he and Aaron are charged both to go to the children of Israel, and to Pharaoh, Ex 6:10-13, next follows a genealogy of the tribes of Reuben, Simeon, and Levi, which seems to be given for the sake of Moses and Aaron, and to show their descent, Ex 6:14-15, who were the persons appointed of God to be the instruments of bringing the children of Israel out of Egypt, Ex 6:26-30.
