16 Entonces el SEÑOR dijo a Moisés: Di a Aarón: Extiende tu vara, y hiere el polvo de la tierra, para que se vuelva piojos por toda la tierra de Egipto

17 Y ellos lo hicieron así; y Aarón extendió su mano con su vara, e hirió el polvo de la tierra, el cual se volvió piojos, así en los hombres como en las bestias; todo el polvo de la tierra se volvió piojos en toda la tierra de Egipto

18 Y los encantadores hicieron así también, para sacar piojos con sus encantamientos; mas no pudieron. Y había piojos así en los hombres como en las bestias

19 Entonces los magos dijeron al Faraón: Dedo de Dios es éste. Mas el corazón del Faraón se endureció, y no los escuchó; como el SEÑOR lo había dicho

20 Y el SEÑOR dijo a Moisés: Levántate de mañana y ponte delante del Faraón, he aquí él sale a las aguas; y dile: El SEÑOR ha dicho así: Deja ir a mi pueblo, para que me sirva

21 Porque si no dejares ir a mi pueblo, he aquí yo enviaré sobre ti, y sobre tus siervos, y sobre tu pueblo, y sobre tus casas toda suerte de moscas; y las casas de los egipcios se llenarán de toda suerte de moscas, y asimismo la tierra donde ellos estuvieren

22 Y aquel día yo apartaré la tierra de Gosén, en la cual mi pueblo habita, para que ninguna suerte de moscas haya en ella; a fin de que sepas que yo soy el SEÑOR en medio de la tierra

23 Y yo pondré redención entre mi pueblo y el tuyo. Mañana será esta señal

24 Y el SEÑOR lo hizo así: que vino toda suerte de moscas molestísimas sobre la casa del Faraón, y sobre las casas de sus siervos, y sobre toda la tierra de Egipto; y la tierra fue corrompida a causa de ellas

25 Entonces el Faraón llamó a Moisés y a Aarón, y les dijo: Andad, sacrificad a vuestro Dios en la tierra de Egipto

26 Y Moisés respondió: No conviene que hagamos así, porque sacrificaríamos al SEÑOR nuestro Dios la abominación de los egipcios. He aquí, si sacrificáramos la abominación de los egipcios delante de ellos, ¿no nos apedrearían

INTRODUCTION TO EXODUS 8

In this chapter Pharaoh is threatened with the plague of frogs, in case he refused to let Israel go, which accordingly was brought upon him, Ex 8:1-6 and though the magicians did something similar to it, yet these were so troublesome to Pharaoh, that he promised to let the people go, and sacrifice to God, if they removed; and a time being fixed for the removal of them, it was accordingly done at the entreaty of Moses and Aaron, Ex 8:7-14 but there being a respite, Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and the plague of lice is ordered, and which was executed; and though this the magicians essayed to do, and could not, but owned it to be the finger of God, yet Pharaoh's heart was hardened, Ex 8:15-19 wherefore he is threatened with a swarm of flies, which should not infest Goshen, only the places where the Egyptians dwelt, and it was so, Ex 8:20-24 upon which Pharaoh called for Moses, and declared himself willing the people would sacrifice in the land; but this not being satisfactory, he agreed they should go into the wilderness, but not so far; and on the account of the entreaty of Moses, the plague was removed; but still Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and he would not let the people go, Ex 8:25-32.
