Ezequiel 27:22-32

22 Llegaban mercaderes de Saba y Raama para conseguir tus mercancías a cambio de toda clase de especias, joyas y oro.

23 »”También de Harán, Cane, Edén, Saba, Asiria y Quilmad llegaban con sus mercancías.

24 Traían telas de alta calidad para comerciar: tela de color azul, bordados y alfombras multicolores, enrolladas y atadas con cordeles.

25 Las naves de Tarsis formaban una caravana acuática. ¡Los depósitos de tu isla estaban llenos hasta el techo!

»”¡Pero mira! ¡Tus remeros
te han llevado hacia mares tempestuosos!
¡Un poderoso viento oriental
te ha causado destrozos en alta mar!

27 Has perdido todo:
tus riquezas y tus mercancías,
tus marineros y tus pilotos,
tus constructores de naves, tus mercaderes y tus guerreros.
En el día de tu ruina,
todos a bordo se hundirán en lo profundo del mar.

28 Tiemblan tus ciudades junto al mar
mientras tus pilotos gritan de terror.

29 Todos los remeros abandonan sus naves;
los marineros y los pilotos en tierra firme se agrupan en la playa.

30 Gritan fuerte por ti
y lloran amargamente.
Se echan polvo sobre la cabeza
y se revuelcan en cenizas.

31 Se rapan la cabeza en señal de duelo por ti
y se visten de tela áspera.
Lloran por ti con gran amargura
y profundo dolor.

32 Mientras se lamentan y gimen por ti,
entonan este triste canto fúnebre:
‘¿Hubo alguna vez una ciudad como Tiro,
que ahora está en silencio, en el fondo del mar?

INTRODUCTION TO EZEKIEL 27

This chapter contains a lamentation on Tyre; setting forth her former grandeur, riches, and commerce; her ruin and destruction; and the concern of others on that account. The prophet is bid to take up his lamentation concerning it, Eze 27:1,2, observing her situation and magnificence, of which she boasted, Eze 27:3,4, describing the excellency of her shipping and naval stores, Eze 27:5-7, declaring who were her mariners, pilots, and caulkers, Eze 27:8,9, her military men, Eze 27:10,11 her several merchants, and the things they traded in with her in her fairs and markets, Eze 27:12-25, then follows an account of her destruction, Eze 27:26,27, the lamentation of pilots and mariners because of it, Eze 27:28-32, and of the kings and inhabitants of the isles, and merchants of the people, Eze 27:33-36.
