Ezequiel 5:1-7

1 Señal del juicio que viene
»Hijo de hombre, toma una espada afilada y úsala como navaja para afeitarte la cabeza y la barba. Toma una balanza y pesa el cabello en tres partes iguales.

2 Coloca una tercera parte del cabello en el centro del mapa que hiciste de Jerusalén. Después de representar el ataque a la ciudad, quémalo allí. Esparce otra tercera parte del cabello por todo el mapa y córtalo con una espada. Arroja la otra tercera parte al viento, porque yo esparciré a mi pueblo con la espada.

3 Conserva apenas un poquito del cabello y átalo en tu túnica.

4 Luego toma algunos de esos cabellos y arrójalos al fuego para que se consuman. De ese remanente se esparcirá un fuego que destruirá a todo Israel.

5 »El Señor
Soberano dice: esto es una ilustración de lo que le ocurrirá a Jerusalén. Yo la puse en el centro de las naciones,

6 pero ella se rebeló contra mis ordenanzas y decretos, y resultó ser aún más perversa que las naciones vecinas. Se ha negado a obedecer las ordenanzas y los decretos que le di para que siguiera.

7 »Por lo tanto, esto dice el Señor
Soberano al pueblo: te has comportado peor que tus vecinos y te has negado a obedecer mis decretos y ordenanzas. Ni siquiera has vivido a la altura de las naciones que te rodean.

INTRODUCTION TO EZEKIEL 5

This chapter is of the same argument with the former; and contains a type of Jerusalem's destruction; an explanation of that type; what were the reasons of God's judgments on that city; and the nature, rise, and end of them. The type is in Eze 5:1-4; the explanation of that type is in Eze 5:5; the reasons of the severe judgments threatened are changing the statutes of the Lord, and not walking in them, and defiling the sanctuary with their abominations, Eze 5:6-11; an account of the judgments of God, answerable to each of the parts in the type, Eze 5:12; the ends of these judgments are, with respect to God, the accomplishment of his anger, and the satisfaction of his justice; with respect to the Jews, bringing them to an acknowledgment that he had spoken in his zeal; and, with respect to the nations, their instruction and astonishment, Eze 5:13-15; and the chapter is concluded with an assurance that these judgments would be sent, Eze 5:16,17.
