Ezequiel 6:5-14

5 Arrojaré los cadáveres delante de sus ídolos y desparramaré sus huesos alrededor de sus altares.

6 Dondequiera que vivan, habrá desolación y destruiré sus santuarios paganos. Sus altares serán demolidos; sus ídolos, aplastados; sus lugares de culto, derribados y todos los objetos religiosos que hayan hecho, destruidos.

7 El lugar quedará sembrado de cadáveres y sabrán que solo yo soy el Señor

8 »”Sin embargo, permitiré que algunos de mi pueblo escapen de la destrucción y esos pocos serán esparcidos entre las naciones del mundo.

9 Luego, cuando estén desterrados entre las naciones, se acordarán de mí. Reconocerán cuánto me duele la infidelidad de su corazón y la lujuria de sus ojos que anhelan a sus ídolos. Entonces, al fin, se odiarán a sí mismos por todos sus pecados detestables.

10 Sabrán que solo yo soy el Señor
y que hablaba en serio cuando dije que traería esta calamidad sobre ellos.

11 »”Esto dice el Señor
Soberano: den palmadas y pataleen en señal de horror. Griten por todos los pecados detestables que ha cometido el pueblo de Israel. Ahora morirán por la guerra, el hambre y la enfermedad:

12 la enfermedad herirá de muerte a los que estén desterrados en lugares lejanos; la guerra destruirá a quienes estén cerca, y cualquiera que sobreviva morirá a causa del hambre. Entonces, por fin desahogaré mi furia en ellos.

13 Sabrán que yo soy el Señor
cuando sus muertos queden esparcidos en medio de sus ídolos y en torno a sus altares, sobre cada colina y montaña y debajo de todo árbol frondoso y cada árbol grande que da sombra, es decir, en los lugares donde ofrecían sacrificios a sus ídolos.

14 Los aplastaré y dejaré desoladas sus ciudades, desde el desierto del sur hasta Ribla,
en el norte. Entonces sabrán que yo soy el Señor

INTRODUCTION TO EZEKIEL 6

This chapter contains a prophecy of the desolation of the whole land of Israel, and a promise that a remnant should escape, with a lamentation for the sad destruction, signified by some gestures of the prophet. The order to the prophet to deliver out the prophecy is in Eze 6:1,2; the several parts of the land of Israel or Judea, to which the prophecy is directed, are signified by mountains, hills, rivers, and valleys, on which the sword should be brought, Eze 6:3; the desolation is described, and the cause of it suggested, the idolatry of the people, Eze 6:4-7; the promise of a remnant that should escape, who should remember the Lord, loath themselves for their sins, acknowledge him, and that his word was not in vain, is in Eze 6:8-10; the lamentation, signified by the prophet's smiting with his hand, and stamping with his foot, for the sins of the people, and the judgments that should come upon them, is in Eze 6:11; a particular enumeration of these judgments follows, and of the places where they should be executed, Eze 6:12; the end of them was to bring them to the knowledge and acknowledgment of the Lord, against whom they had sinned and offended by their idolatry, as the places where their slain fell would show, Eze 6:13; and the chapter is concluded with a resolution to bring this desolation on them, Eze 6:14.
