Génesis 7:14-24

14 Con ellos en la barca había parejas de cada especie animal —domésticos y salvajes, grandes y pequeños— junto con aves de cada especie.

15 De dos en dos entraron en la barca, en representación de todo ser vivo que respira.

16 Entraron un macho y una hembra de cada especie, tal como Dios había ordenado a Noé. Luego el Señor
cerró la puerta detrás de ellos.

17 Durante cuarenta días, las aguas del diluvio crecieron hasta que cubrieron la tierra y elevaron la barca por encima de la tierra.

18 Mientras el nivel del agua subía más y más por encima del suelo, la barca flotaba a salvo sobre la superficie.

19 Finalmente, el agua cubrió hasta las montañas más altas de la tierra

20 elevándose casi siete metros
por encima de las cumbres más altas.

21 Murieron todos los seres vivos que había sobre la tierra: las aves, los animales domésticos, los animales salvajes, los animales pequeños que corren por el suelo y todas las personas.

22 Todo lo que respiraba y vivía sobre tierra firme murió.

23 Dios borró de la tierra a todo ser vivo: las personas, los animales, los animales pequeños que corren por el suelo y las aves del cielo. Todos fueron destruidos. Las únicas personas que sobrevivieron fueron Noé y los que estaban con él en la barca.

24 Y las aguas del diluvio cubrieron la tierra durante ciento cincuenta días.

INTRODUCTION TO GENESIS 7

This chapter begins with an order to Noah to come with his family and all the creatures into the ark, that they might be safe from the flood, which would quickly be upon the earth, Ge 7:1-4 and then gives an account of Noah's obedience to the divine command in every particular, Ge 7:5-9 and of the time of the beginning of the flood, and its prevalence, Ge 7:10-12 then follows a repetition of Noah, his family, and the creatures entering into the ark, Ge 7:13-16 and next a relation is given of the increase of the waters, and of the height they arrived unto, Ge 7:17-20 and of the consequences of the flood, the death and destruction of every living creature, except those in the ark, fowl, cattle, beast, creeping things, and men, Ge 7:21-23 and the chapter is closed with an account how long the waters continued before they began to ebb, even one hundred and fifty days, Ge 7:24.
