Grudgenot[a] one against another*, brethren,lest ye be condemned: behold, the judgestandethbefore the door.

Take, mybrethren, the prophets,who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction,and of patience.

Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job,and have seen the end of the Lord;that the Lordis very pitiful,and of tender mercy.

Butabove all things,mybrethren,swearnot,neither by heaven,neither by the earth,neither by anyotheroath:butletyouryeabeyea;and your nay,nay;lest ye fallintocondemnation.

Isanyamongyouafflicted? let him pray. Isanymerry? let him sing psalms.

Isanysickamongyou? let him call for the elders of the church;and let them prayoverhim,anointinghim with oilin the name of the Lord:

And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raisehimup; and if he havecommittedsins, they shall be forgivenhim.

Confess your faults one to another,andprayoneforanother,that ye may be healed. The effectual ferventprayer of a righteous manavailethmuch.

Eliaswas a man subject to like passions as we are,and he prayedearnestly[b] that it mightnotrain: and it rainednoton the earth by the space of threeyearsandsixmonths.
