Job 40:1-11

1 Además de eso respondió el SEÑOR a Job y dijo

2 ¿Es por ventura sabiduría contender con el Omnipotente? El que disputa con Dios, responda a esto

3 Y respondió Job al SEÑOR, y dijo

4 He aquí que yo soy vil, ¿qué te responderé? Mi mano pongo sobre mi boca

5 Una vez hablé, y no responderé; aun dos veces, mas no volveré a hablar

6 Entonces respondió el SEÑOR a Job desde el torbellino, y dijo

7 Cíñete ahora como varón tus lomos; yo te preguntaré, y explícame

8 ¿Por ventura invalidarás tú también mi juicio? ¿Me condenarás a mí, para justificarte a ti

9 ¿Tienes tú brazo como Dios? ¿Y tronarás tú con voz como él

10 Atavíate ahora de majestad y de alteza; y vístete de honra y de hermosura

11 Esparce furores de tu ira; y mira a todo soberbio, y abátelo

Job 40:1-11 Meaning and Commentary

INTRODUCTION TO JOB 40

In this chapter Job is called upon to give in his answer, Job 40:1,2, which he does in the most humble manner, acknowledging his vileness and folly, Job 40:3-5; and then the Lord proceeds to give him further conviction of his superior justice and power, Job 40:6-9; and one thing he proposes to him, to humble the proud, if he could, and then he would own his own right hand could save him, Job 40:10-15; and observes to him another instance of his power in a creature called behemoth, which he had made, and gives a description of, Job 40:15-24.
