Josué 22:1-9

1 Entonces Josué llamó a los rubenitas y a los gaditas, y a la media tribu de Manasés

2 y les dijo: Vosotros habéis guardado todo lo que Moisés siervo del SEÑOR os mandó, y habéis escuchado mi voz en todo lo que os he mandado

3 No habéis dejado a vuestros hermanos en estos muchos días hasta hoy, antes habéis guardado la observancia de los mandamientos del SEÑOR vuestro Dios

4 Ahora pues que el SEÑOR vuestro Dios ha dado reposo a vuestros hermanos, como se lo había prometido, volved, y regresad a vuestras tiendas, a la tierra de vuestras posesiones, que Moisés siervo del SEÑOR os dio al otro lado del Jordán

5 Solamente que con diligencia os guardéis haciendo lo del mandamiento y la ley, que Moisés siervo del SEÑOR os mandó: que améis al SEÑOR vuestro Dios, y andéis en todos sus caminos; que guardéis sus mandamientos, y os acerquéis a él, y le sirváis con todo vuestro corazón y con toda vuestra alma

6 Y bendiciéndolos Josué, los envió; y se fueron a sus tiendas

7 También a la media tribu de Manasés había dado Moisés posesión en Basán; mas a la otra media tribu dio Josué heredad entre sus hermanos de este lado del Jordán al occidente; y también a éstos envió Josué a sus tiendas, después de haberlos bendecido

8 Y les habló, diciendo: Volveos a vuestras tiendas con grandes riquezas, y con gran copia de ganado, con plata, oro, bronce, y hierro, y muchos vestidos; repartid con vuestros hermanos el despojo de vuestros enemigos

9 Y los hijos de Rubén y los hijos de Gad, y la media tribu de Manasés, se volvieron partiendo de los hijos de Israel, de Silo, que está en la tierra de Canaán, para ir a la tierra de Galaad, a la tierra de sus posesiones, de la cual eran poseedores, según palabra del SEÑOR por mano de Moisés

INTRODUCTION TO JOSHUA 22

The war with the Canaanites being ended, Joshua called to him the two tribes of Reuben and Gad, and the half tribe of Manasseh, who came over Jordan with him to assist in it, and commended them for their obedience to Moses and to himself, and to God by them; and then dismissed them, with some instructions to keep the ways and worship of God, and with his blessing upon them, Jos 22:1-8; upon which they returned to their country, and when they came to the borders of it set up an altar by Jordan, Jos 22:9,10; which, when the children of Israel heard of, it gave them great offence, they fearing they were going to make a revolt from the pure worship of God, and therefore sent a deputation of princes to them, with the son of the high priest, to inquire into the matter, and expostulate with them about it, who did, Jos 22:11-20; and who received from them a very satisfactory answer, Jos 22:21-31; with which they returned and reported to the children of Israel, and which gave them pleasure, Jos 22:32-34.
