But he began to curse and to swear, For I know not this man, of whom ye say.

And at once [And anon] again the cock crew. And Peter bethought on the word that Jesus had said to him, Before the cock crow twice, thrice thou shalt deny me [Before that the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice]. And he began to weep.
