Salmi 135:1-10

1 ALLELUIA. Lodate il Nome del Signore; Lodatelo, voi servitori del Signore;

2 Che state nella Casa del Signore, Ne’ cortili della Casa del nostro Dio.

3 Lodate il Signore; perciocchè il Signore è buono; Salmeggiate al suo Nome, perciocchè è amabile.

4 Conciossiachè il Signore si abbia eletto Giacobbe Ed Israele per suo tesoro riposto.

5 Certo io conosco che il Signore è grande, E che il nostro Signore è maggiore di tutti gl’iddii.

6 Il Signore fa tutto ciò che gli piace In cielo ed in terra; Ne’ mari, ed in tutti gli abissi.

7 Egli fa salire i vapori dall’estremità dalle terra; Egli fa i lampi per la pioggia; Egli trae fuori il vento da’ suoi tesori.

8 Egli è quel che percosse i primogeniti di Egitto, Così degli uomini, come degli animali.

9 Che mandò segni e prodigi, in mezzo di te, o Egitto; Sopra Faraone, e sopra tutti i suoi servitori.

10 Che percosse nazioni grandi, Ed uccise re potenti;

Salmi 135:1-10 Meaning and Commentary

INTRODUCTION TO PSALM 135

This psalm was written very probably by the same hand as the former. It begins in much the same manner; it has some likeness with Psalm 113 and 114. It begins and ends with "hallelujah"; and is throughout an exhortation of praise to God, on account of his name, nature, and perfections; and because of his works of creation, providence, and grace, many of which are enumerated. The Syriac interpreter says, there is an intimation in it of the conversion of the people of the Messiah unto the faith.
