Zacarías 2:4-13

4 y le dijo: Corre, habla a ese joven, y dile: "Sin muros será habitada Jerusalén, a causa de la multitud de hombres y de ganados dentro de ella.

5 "Y yo seré para ella"declara el SEÑOR "una muralla de fuego en derredor, y gloria seré en medio de ella."

6 ¡Ea, ea! Huid de la tierra del nortedeclara el SEÑORporque como a los cuatro vientos del cielo os dispersé yodeclara el SEÑOR.

7 ¡Ea, Sion, tú que moras con la hija de Babilonia, escápate!

8 Porque así dice el SEÑOR de los ejércitos, cuya ^[a] gloria me ha enviado contra las naciones que os despojaron, porque el que os toca, toca la niña de su ojo:

9 He aquí, alzaré mi mano contra ellas, y serán despojo para sus esclavos. Entonces sabréis que el SEÑOR de los ejércitos me ha enviado.

10 Canta de júbilo y alégrate, oh hija de Sion; porque he aquí, vengo, y habitaré en medio de tideclara el SEÑOR.

11 Y se unirán muchas naciones al SEÑOR aquel día, y serán mi pueblo. Entonces habitaré en medio de ti, y sabrás que el SEÑOR de los ejércitos me ha enviado a ti.

12 Y el SEÑOR poseerá a Judá, su porción en la tierra santa, y escogerá de nuevo a Jerusalén.

13 Calle toda carne delante del SEÑOR, porque El se ha levantado de su santa morada.

Zacarías 2:4-13 Meaning and Commentary

INTRODUCTION TO ZECHARIAH 2

This chapter contains a prophecy of the church under the Gospel dispensation; of the largeness and numbers of it; and of its protection and glory, through the presence of God in it. In this vision a man is seen with a measuring line in his hand, to measure Jerusalem with, Zec 2:1,2 upon which an angel bids the angel that talked with the prophet to declare to him the largeness, populousness, and safety of Jerusalem, Zec 2:3-5 then follows an exhortation to the people of God to come out of Babylon, Zec 2:6,7 and then a promise of the calling of the Gentiles, and of God's gracious inhabitation in his church, which would be matter of joy to Zion; and of his inheriting Judah, and choosing Jerusalem Zec 2:8-12 and the chapter is concluded with an address to all mankind, to be silent before the Lord, since he was raised up out of his habitation, Zec 2:13.
