Psalm 84; Psalm 85; Psalm 86; Romans 12

1 (83-1) <Unto the end, for the winepresses, a psalm for the sons of Core.> (83-2) How lovely are thy tabernacles, O Lord of hosts! 2 (83-3) my soul longeth and fainteth for the courts of the Lord. My heart and my flesh have rejoiced in the living God. 3 (83-4) For the sparrow hath found herself a house, and the turtle a nest for herself where she may lay her young ones: Thy altars, O Lord of hosts, my king and my God. 4 (83-5) Blessed are they that dwell in thy house, O Lord: they shall praise thee for ever and ever. 5 (83-6) Blessed is the man whose help is from thee: in his heart he hath disposed to ascend by steps, 6 (83-7) In the vale of tears, in the place which he hath set. 7 (83-8) For the lawgiver shall give a blessing, they shall go from virtue to virtue: the God of gods shall be seen in Sion. 8 (83-9) O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O God of Jacob. 9 (83-10) Behold, O God our protector: and look on the face of thy Christ. 10 (83-11) For better is one day in thy courts above thousands. I have chosen to be an abject in the house of my God, rather than to dwell in the tabernacles of sinners. 11 (83-12) For God loveth mercy and truth: the Lord will give grace and glory. 12 (83-13) He will not deprive of good things them that walk in innocence: O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.
1 (84-1) <Unto the end, for the sons of Core, a psalm.> (84-2) Lord, thou hast blessed thy land: thou hast turned away the captivity of Jacob. 2 (84-3) Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people: thou hast covered all their sins. 3 (84-4) Thou hast mitigated all thy anger: thou hast turned away from the wrath of thy indignation. 4 (84-5) Convert us, O God our saviour: and turn off thy anger from us. 5 (84-6) Wilt thou be angry with us for ever: or wilt thou extend thy wrath from generation to generation? 6 (84-7) Thou wilt turn, O God, and bring us to life: and thy people shall rejoice in thee. 7 (84-8) Shew us, O Lord, thy mercy; and grant us thy salvation. 8 (84-9) I will hear what the Lord God will speak in me: for he will speak peace unto his people: And unto his saints: and unto them that are converted to the heart. 9 (84-10) Surely his salvation is near to them that fear him:that glory may dwell in our land. 10 (84-11) Mercy and truth have met each other: justice and peace have kissed. 11 (84-12) Truth is sprung out of the earth: and justice hath looked down from heaven. 12 (84-13) For the Lord will give goodness: and our earth shall yield her fruit. 13 (84-14) Justice shall walk before him: and ,shall set his steps in the way.
1 (85-1) <A prayer for David himself.> Incline thy ear, O Lord, and hear me: for I am needy and poor. 2 (85-2) Preserve my soul, for I am holy: save thy servant, O my God, that trusteth in thee. 3 (85-3) Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I have cried to thee all the day. 4 (85-4) Give joy to the soul of thy servant, for to thee, O Lord, I have lifted up my soul. 5 (85-5) For thou, O Lord, art sweet and mild: and plenteous in mercy to all that call upon thee. 6 (85-6) Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer: and attend to the voice of my petition. 7 (85-7) I have called upon thee in the day of my trouble: because thou hast heard me. 8 (85-8) There is none among the gods like unto thee, O Lord: and there is none according to thy works. 9 (85-9) All the nations thou hast made shall come and adore before thee, O Lord: and they shall glorify thy name. 10 (85-10) For thou art great and dost wonderful things: thou art God alone. 11 (85-11) Conduct me, O Lord, in thy way, and I will walk in thy truth: let my heart rejoice that it may fear thy name. 12 (85-12) I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with my whole heart, and I will glorify thy name for ever: 13 (85-13) For thy mercy is great towards me: and thou hast delivered my soul out of the lower hell. 14 (85-14) O God, the wicked are risen up against me, and the assembly of the mighty have sought my soul: and they have not set thee before their eyes. 15 (85-15) And thou, O Lord, art a God of compassion, and merciful, patient, and of much mercy, and true. 16 (85-16) O look upon me, and have mercy on me: give thy command to thy servant, and save the son of thy handmaid. 17 (85-17) Shew me a token for good: that they who hate me may see, and be confounded, because thou, O Lord, hast helped me and hast comforted me.
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercy of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, pleasing unto God, your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be reformed in the newness of your mind, that you may prove what is the good and the acceptable and the perfect will of God. 3 For I say, by the grace that is given me, to all that are among you, not to be more wise than it behoveth to be wise, but to be wise unto sobriety and according as God hath divided to every one the measure of faith. 4 For as in one body we have many members, but all the members have not the same office: 5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ; and every one members one of another: 6 And having different gifts, according to the grace that is given us, either prophecy, to be used according to the rule of faith; 7 Or ministry, in ministering; or he that teacheth, in doctrine; 8 He that exhorteth, in exhorting; he that giveth, with simplicity; he that ruleth, with carefulness; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness. 9 Let love be without dissimulation. Hating that which is evil, cleaving to that which is good, 10 Loving one another with the charity of brotherhood: with honour preventing one another. 11 In carefulness not slothful. In spirit fervent. Serving the Lord. 12 Rejoicing in hope. Patient in tribulation. Instant in prayer. 13 Communicating to the necessities of the saints. Pursuing hospitality. 14 Bless them that persecute you: bless, and curse not. 15 Rejoice with them that rejoice: weep with them that weep. 16 Being of one mind one towards another. Not minding high things, but consenting to the humble. Be not wise in your own conceits. 17 To no man rendering evil for evil. Providing good things, not only in the sight of God but also in the sight of all men. 18 If it be possible, as much as is in you, have peace with all men. 19 Revenge not yourselves, my dearly beloved; but give place unto wrath, for it is written: Revenge is mine, I will repay, saith the Lord. 20 But if the enemy be hungry, give him to eat; if he thirst, give him to drink. For, doing this, thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head. 21 Be not overcome by evil: but overcome evil by good.
