You, however, know all about my teaching,2 my way of life, my purpose, faith, patience, love, endurance,
persecutions, sufferings--what kinds of things happened to me in Antioch,3 Iconium4 and Lystra,5 the persecutions I endured.6 Yet the Lord rescued7 me from all of them.812
In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted,913
while evil men and impostors will go from bad to worse,10 deceiving and being deceived.1114
But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it,1215
and how from infancy13 you have known the holy Scriptures,14 which are able to make you wise15 for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.
All Scripture is God-breathed16 and is useful for teaching,17 rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,1817
so that the man of God19 may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.20
