Now the Pharisees, who were 3lovers of money, were listening to allthesethings and 4were scoffing at Him.

And He said to them, "You are those who 5justifyyourselves in the sight of men, but 6Godknows your hearts; for that which is highlyesteemedamongmen is detestable in the sight of God.

"7The Law and the Prophets were proclaimed untilJohn; since that time8the gospel of the kingdom of God has been preached, and everyone is forcing his way into it.

"9But it is easier for heaven and earth to passawaythan for onestroke of a letter of the Law to fail.

"10Everyone who divorces his wife and marriesanothercommitsadultery, and he who marries one who is divorced from a husbandcommitsadultery.
