25 But about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise to God, and the prisoners were listening to them; 27 When the jailer awoke and saw the prison doors opened, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself, supposing that the prisoners had escaped. 18 So he took him and led him to the commander and said, "Paul the prisoner called me to him and asked me to lead this young man to you since he has something to tell you." 14 While they were spending many days there, Festus laid Paul's case before the king, saying, "There is a man who was left as a prisoner by Felix; 27 "For it seems absurd to me in sending a prisoner, not to indicate also the charges against him." 17 After three days Paul called together those who were the leading men of the Jews, and when they came together, he began saying to them, "Brethren , though I had done nothing against our people or the customs of our fathers, yet I was delivered as a prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans.
