and through him to reconcile1 to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven,2 by making peace3 through his blood,4 shed on the cross.

Once you were alienated from God and were enemies5 in your minds6 because ofa your evil behavior.

But now he has reconciled7 you by Christ's physical body8 through death to present you9 holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation10--
