Young's Literal Translation
because bread and water will be scarce ; and they will be appalled with one another and waste away in their iniquity.
"Son of man, your brothers, your relatives, your fellow exiles and the whole house of Israel, all of them, are those to whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem have said, 'Go far from the LORD ; this land has been given us as a possession.'
"As for his father, because he practiced extortion, robbed his brother and did what was not good among his people, behold, he will die for his iniquity.
'Your turbans will be on your heads and your shoes on your feet. You will not mourn and you will not weep, but you will rot away in your iniquities and you will groan to one another.
"But as for you, son of man, your fellow citizens who talk about you by the walls and in the doorways of the houses, speak to one another, each to his brother, saying, 'Come now and hear what the message is which comes forth from the LORD.'
"I will call for a sword against him on all My mountains," declares the Lord GOD. "Every man's sword will be against his brother.
"They shall not go to a dead person to defile themselves; however , for father, for mother, for son, for daughter, for brother, or for a sister who has not had a husband, they may defile themselves.
"You shall divide it for an inheritance, each one equally with the other ; for I swore to give it to your forefathers, and this land shall fall to you as an inheritance.
