For the Law, since it has only 1a shadow of 2the goodthings to come and not the veryaform of things, bcan3never, by the samesacrificeswhich they offercontinuallyyear by year, 4makeperfectthose who drawnear.
2Otherwise, would they not have ceased to be offered, because the worshipers, having once been cleansed, would nolongerhavehad5consciousness of sins ?
But 6in cthose sacrifices there is a reminder of sinsyear by year.
For it is 7impossible for the 8blood of bulls and goats to takeawaysins.
5Therefore, 9when He comes into the world, He says, "10SACRIFICE AND OFFERING YOU HAVE NOT DESIRED, BUT 11A BODY YOU HAVE PREPARED FOR ME;
612IN WHOLEBURNTOFFERINGS AND sacrifices FOR SIN YOU HAVE TAKENNOPLEASURE.
"13THEN I SAID, 'BEHOLD, I HAVECOME (IN 14THE SCROLL OF THE BOOK IT IS WRITTEN TO DO YOUR WILL, O GOD.' "
After sayingabove, "15SACRIFICES AND OFFERINGS AND 16WHOLEBURNTOFFERINGS AND sacrifices 17FOR SIN YOU HAVE NOT DESIRED, NOR HAVE YOU TAKENPLEASURE in them" (which are offeredaccording to the Law ),
9then He dsaid, "18BEHOLD, I HAVECOME TO DO YOUR WILL." He takesaway the first in order to establish the second.
By ethiswill we have been19sanctifiedthrough20the offering of 21the body of JesusChrist22once for all.
