26 The LORD of hosts will arouse a scourge against him like the slaughter of Midian at the rock of Oreb ; and His staff will be over the sea and He will lift it up the way He did in Egypt.

Babylon Will Fall to the Medes

17 Behold, I am going to stir up the Medes against them, Who will not value silver or take pleasure in gold. 9 "Sheol from beneath is excited over you to meet you when you come ; It arouses for you the spirits of the dead, all the leaders of the earth ; It raises all the kings of the nations from their thrones. 5 My heart cries out for Moab ; His fugitives are as far as Zoar and Eglath-shelishiyah , For they go up the ascent of Luhith weeping ; Surely on the road to Horonaim they raise a cry of distress over their ruin. 2 "Who has aroused one from the east Whom He calls in righteousness to His feet ? He delivers up nations before him And subdues kings. He makes them like dust with his sword, As the wind-driven chaff with his bow. 25 "I have aroused one from the north, and he has come ; From the rising of the sun he will call on My name ; And he will come upon rulers as upon mortar, Even as the potter treads clay." 13 The LORD will go forth like a warrior, He will arouse His zeal like a man of war. He will utter a shout, yes, He will raise a war cry. He will prevail against His enemies. 13 "I have aroused him in righteousness And I will make all his ways smooth ; He will build My city and will let My exiles go free, Without any payment or reward," says the LORD of hosts. 4 The Lord GOD has given Me the tongue of disciples, That I may know how to sustain the weary one with a word. He awakens Me morning by morning, He awakens My ear to listen as a disciple. 9 Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the LORD ; Awake as in the days of old, the generations of long ago. Was it not You who cut Rahab in pieces, Who pierced the dragon ? 17 Rouse yourself ! Rouse yourself ! Arise, O Jerusalem, You who have drunk from the LORD'S hand the cup of His anger ; The chalice of reeling you have drained to the dregs.

Cheer for Prostrate Zion

1 Awake, awake, Clothe yourself in your strength, O Zion ; Clothe yourself in your beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city ; For the uncircumcised and the unclean Will no longer come into you. 7 There is no one who calls on Your name, Who arouses himself to take hold of You; For You have hidden Your face from us And have delivered us into the power of our iniquities.
