2 "Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid ; For the LORD GOD is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation." 3 "The steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace, Because he trusts in You. 4 "Trust in the LORD forever, For in GOD the LORD, we have an everlasting Rock. 12 Therefore thus says the Holy One of Israel, "Since you have rejected this word And have put your trust in oppression and guile, and have relied on them,

Help Not in Egypt but in God

1 Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help And rely on horses, And trust in chariots because they are many And in horsemen because they are very strong, But they do not look to the Holy One of Israel, nor seek the LORD ! 9 Rise up, you women who are at ease, And hear my voice ; Give ear to my word, You complacent daughters. 10 Within a year and a few days You will be troubled, O complacent daughters; For the vintage is ended, And the fruit gathering will not come. 11 Tremble, you women who are at ease ; Be troubled, you complacent daughters; Strip, undress and put sackcloth on your waist, 4 Then Rabshakeh said to them, "Say now to Hezekiah, 'Thus says the great king, the king of Assyria, "What is this confidence that you have ? 5 "I say, 'Your counsel and strength for the war are only empty words.' Now on whom do you rely, that you have rebelled against me? 6 "Behold, you rely on the staff of this crushed reed, even on Egypt, on which if a man leans, it will go into his hand and pierce it. So is Pharaoh king of Egypt to all who rely on him. 7 "But if you say to me, 'We trust in the LORD our God,' is it not He whose high places and whose altars Hezekiah has taken away and has said to Judah and to Jerusalem, 'You shall worship before this altar '? 9 "How then can you repulse one official of the least of my master's servants and rely on Egypt for chariots and for horsemen ? 15 nor let Hezekiah make you trust in the LORD, saying, "The LORD will surely deliver us, this city will not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria." 10 "Thus you shall say to Hezekiah king of Judah, 'Do not let your God in whom you trust deceive you, saying, "Jerusalem will not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria." 17 They will be turned back and be utterly put to shame, Who trust in idols, Who say to molten images, "You are our gods." 10 "You felt secure in your wickedness and said, 'No one sees me,' Your wisdom and your knowledge, they have deluded you; For you have said in your heart, 'I am, and there is no one besides me.' 10 Who is among you that fears the LORD, That obeys the voice of His servant, That walks in darkness and has no light ? Let him trust in the name of the LORD and rely on his God. 4 No one sues righteously and no one pleads honestly. They trust in confusion and speak lies ; They conceive mischief and bring forth iniquity.
