In days to come Jacob will take root,1 Israel will bud and blossom2 and fill all the world with fruit.37
Has [the LORD] struck her as he struck4 down those who struck her? Has she been killed as those were killed who killed her?

By this, then, will Jacob's guilt be atoned7 for, and this will be the full fruitage of the removal of his sin:8 When he makes all the altar stones9 to be like chalk stones crushed to pieces, no Asherah polesb10 or incense altars11 will be left standing.
The fortified city stands desolate,12 an abandoned settlement, forsaken13 like the desert; there the calves graze,14 there they lie down;15 they strip its branches bare.
When its twigs are dry, they are broken off16 and women come and make fires17 with them. For this is a people without understanding;18 so their Maker has no compassion on them, and their Creator19 shows them no favor.2012
In that day the LORD will thresh21 from the flowing Euphratesc to the Wadi of Egypt,22 and you, O Israelites, will be gathered23 up one by one.
And in that day24 a great trumpet25 will sound. Those who were perishing in Assyria and those who were exiled26 in Egypt27 will come and worship28 the LORD on the holy mountain29 in Jerusalem.
