35 Yet you said, 'I am innocent ; Surely His anger is turned away from me.' Behold, I will enter into judgment with you Because you say, 'I have not sinned.' 13 'Only acknowledge your iniquity, That you have transgressed against the LORD your God And have scattered your favors to the strangers under every green tree, And you have not obeyed My voice,' declares the LORD. 4 Then I said, "They are only the poor, They are foolish ; For they do not know the way of the LORD Or the ordinance of their God. 19 Woe is me, because of my injury ! My wound is incurable. But I said, "Truly this is a sickness, And I must bear it."

Jeremiah's Prayer

1 Righteous are You, O LORD, that I would plead my case with You; Indeed I would discuss matters of justice with You: Why has the way of the wicked prospered ? Why are all those who deal in treachery at ease ? 19 O LORD, my strength and my stronghold, And my refuge in the day of distress, To You the nations will come From the ends of the earth and say, "Our fathers have inherited nothing but falsehood, Futility and things of no profit." 15 "Only know for certain that if you put me to death, you will bring innocent blood on yourselves, and on this city and on its inhabitants ; for truly the LORD has sent me to you to speak all these words in your hearing." 7 "Yet hear now this word which I am about to speak in your hearing and in the hearing of all the people ! 11 'For I am with you,' declares the LORD, 'to save you; For I will destroy completely all the nations where I have scattered you, Only I will not destroy you completely. But I will chasten you justly And will by no means leave you unpunished.' 30 "Indeed the sons of Israel and the sons of Judah have been doing only evil in My sight from their youth ; for the sons of Israel have been only provoking Me to anger by the work of their hands," declares the LORD. 4 "Yet hear the word of the LORD, O Zedekiah king of Judah !
