Young's Literal Translation
Now they had been sent from the Pharisees.
Now there was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews;
Therefore when the Lord knew that the Pharisees had heard that Jesus was making and baptizing more disciples than John
The Pharisees heard the crowd muttering these things about Him, and the chief priests and the Pharisees sent officers to seize Him.
The officers then came to the chief priests and Pharisees, and they said to them, "Why did you not bring Him?"
The Pharisees then answered them, "You have not also been led astray, have you?
"No one of the rulers or Pharisees has believed in Him, has he?
The scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman caught in adultery, and having set her in the center of the court,
So the Pharisees said to Him, "You are testifying about Yourself; Your testimony is not true."
They brought to the Pharisees the man who was formerly blind.
Then the Pharisees also were asking him again how he received his sight. And he said to them, "He applied clay to my eyes, and I washed, and I see."
Therefore some of the Pharisees were saying, "This man is not from God, because He does not keep the Sabbath." But others were saying, "How can a man who is a sinner perform such signs?" And there was a division among them.
Those of the Pharisees who were with Him heard these things and said to Him, "We are not blind too, are we?"
But some of them went to the Pharisees and told them the things which Jesus had done.
Therefore the chief priests and the Pharisees convened a council, and were saying, "What are we doing? For this man is performing many signs.
Now the chief priests and the Pharisees had given orders that if anyone knew where He was, he was to report it, so that they might seize Him.
So the Pharisees said to one another, "You see that you are not doing any good; look, the world has gone after Him."
Nevertheless many even of the rulers believed in Him, but because of the Pharisees they were not confessing Him, for fear that they would be put out of the synagogue;
Judas then, having received the Roman cohort and officers from the chief priests and the Pharisees, came there with lanterns and torches and weapons.
