13 about 40,000 equipped for war, crossed for battle before the LORD to the desert plains of Jericho. 14 He said, "No ; rather I indeed come now as captain of the host of the LORD." And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and bowed down, and said to him, "What has my lord to say to his servant ?" 15 The captain of the LORD'S host said to Joshua, "Remove your sandals from your feet, for the place where you are standing is holy." And Joshua did so. 12 When the sons of Israel heard of it, the whole congregation of the sons of Israel gathered themselves at Shiloh to go up against them in war. 33 The word pleased the sons of Israel, and the sons of Israel blessed God ; and they did not speak of going up against them in war to destroy the land in which the sons of Reuben and the sons of Gad were living.
