48 When they saw Him, they were astonished; and His mother said to Him, "Son, why have You treated us this way? Behold, Your father and I have been anxiously looking for You." 49 And He said to them, "Why is it that you were looking for Me? Did you not know that I had to be in My Father's house?" 18 And some men were carrying on a bed a man who was paralyzed; and they were trying to bring him in and to set him down in front of Him. 19 And all the people were trying to touch Him, for power was coming from Him and healing them all. 9 Herod said, "I myself had John beheaded; but who is this man about whom I hear such things?" And he kept trying to see Him. 9 "So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 10 "For everyone who asks, receives; and he who seeks, finds; and to him who knocks, it will be opened. 16 Others, to test Him, were demanding of Him a sign from heaven. 24 "When the unclean spirit goes out of a man, it passes through waterless places seeking rest, and not finding any, it says, 'I will return to my house from which I came.'

The Sign of Jonah

29 As the crowds were increasing, He began to say, "This generation is a wicked generation; it seeks for a sign, and yet no sign will be given to it but the sign of Jonah. 29 "And do not seek what you will eat and what you will drink, and do not keep worrying. 31 "But seek His kingdom, and these things will be added to you. 6 And He began telling this parable: "A man had a fig tree which had been planted in his vineyard; and he came looking for fruit on it and did not find any. 7 "And he said to the vineyard-keeper, 'Behold, for three years I have come looking for fruit on this fig tree without finding any. Cut it down! Why does it even use up the ground?' 24 "Strive to enter through the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able.

19 The scribes and the chief priests tried to lay hands on Him that very hour, and they feared the people; for they understood that He spoke this parable against them. 2 The chief priests and the scribes were seeking how they might put Him to death; for they were afraid of the people. 6 So he consented, and began seeking a good opportunity to betray Him to them apart from the crowd. 5 and as the women were terrified and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, "Why do you seek the living One among the dead?
