Young's Literal Translation
"But do this to them that they may live and not die when they approach the most holy objects: Aaron and his sons shall go in and assign each of them to his work and to his load ;
But Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh remained alive out of those men who went to spy out the land.
Then the LORD said to Moses, "Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a standard ; and it shall come about, that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, he will live."
And Moses made a bronze serpent and set it on the standard ; and it came about, that if a serpent bit any man, when he looked to the bronze serpent, he lived.
"But the donkey saw me and turned aside from me these three times. If she had not turned aside from me, I would surely have killed you just now, and let her live."
Then he took up his discourse and said, "Alas, who can live except God has ordained it?
And Moses said to them, "Have you spared all the women ?
"But all the girls who have not known man intimately , spare for yourselves.
"The cities shall be theirs to live in; and their pasture lands shall be for their cattle and for their herds and for all their beasts.
